InStock WSCM is the management system for stocks implemented as web rilozheniye, interacting with external corporate systems and giving a joint work opportunity to purchase plans, including their calculation, creation, adjustment and export to external systems.

The InStock WSCM system is intended for solving of tasks of inventory management of most the companies of medium business.

InStock WSCM is the Russian development. It means that it is possible to implement those features in methods of management of stocks which meet at any enterprise in a system in a short time and to construct the solution adapted for a specific situation and features of business of the customer emphasized in InStock Technologies.

InStock WMS (IsWMS) version 4.0

With updating of summer of 2016 a number of new useful opportunities became available to users, and already available functionality was optimized. One of the main ideas put in structure of the warehouse management system InStock WMS and in approach to accomplishment of completions: the experience and additional functionality purchased by a system on any of projects becomes available both at implementation of new projects, and in the projects of all clients implemented earlier. The basic version of a system contains practically all functionality implemented at clients for the last eight years in the form of easily configured modules. It allows to automate difficult processes with the minimum completions in a short time. Also it allows to update constantly versions of a system for our clients without additional payment. InStock WMS is the only WMS system in our market which all clients work at the latest version of a system.

It is possible that:

  • Any functionality finished on the next project joins in the basic version (but it is not localized under the certain client).
  • The new client begins implementation of the basic version with all functionality acquired before.
  • As the "old" client has no completions localized only under him, he without serious consequences updates the version of the program to current and receives new functionality free of charge
  • Updates are released once in 3-6 months. Are transferred and established at the client within technical support, without additional payment

The clients who purchased version 1.0 or clients who purchased version 4.0 - everything work at the latest current version including all new practices and experience now and grow together with requirements of the market.

Description of a system

According to information for June, 2016 the information system InStock WMS (IsWMS) is the full-function, autonomous and quickly paid back warehouse management system automating processes on averages and large warehouse complexes of any types. A system allows to manage the movement of goods in a warehouse, priority of selection of orders, in details to consider the rendered services, to control work of employees of a warehouse. The data access of the InStock WMS system is possible on the Internet both for clients, and for their partners / suppliers. The program is developed for the Russian market, but successfully implemented in the territory of many CIS countries in warehouses of producers of goods, distributors, operators of safe custody of 3PL.

A system is "konstruktorny" that allows to create required processes of debugged conventional components. Thanks to the special "master of settings", integrator and the client can configure a system, adapting to changes in business from the moment of implementation and further without restrictions, from setup of screen forms and electronic notifications before change of algorithms.

InStock WMS is created on the Java platform, is compatible to different DBMS, is easily integrated with various ERP systems from 1C to SAP, has a possibility of 3D visualization of a warehouse of the client.

Solvable problems and features of system operation

In addition to the basic functionality including all transactions from acceptance before shipment of goods in a warehouse, the InStock WMS system in details automates business processes of the client, taking into account all features of his tovaroobrabotka.

Adaptivity of a system is maintained by the editor of the interface (configuring of the WEB INTERFACE and the TSD interface, adding of fields, the interesting information), a configurator of rules (configuring of strategy and rules of storage, placement and selection, connection of own algorithms), a configurator of business processes (setup of business processes under the client's tasks), the designer of events (designing of events and actions on them, notifications), regulations of order processing, the editor of printed forms (development of own operational and analytical reports, printed forms and labels).

A system is expected operation both in network of the client, and on the Internet.

The graphical interface does not need an additional configuration on the client's computer, everything works via the browser. Data collection terminals fully work both on a local network, and on the Internet.

It is possible to monitor work of a warehouse from any remote computer and even the smartphone, control over a remaining balance of goods is available outside a warehouse in real time. There is a possibility of remote installation of a system - in a hosting, a cloud, at the central office. After system implementation on the customer's object tools of adaptation of a system are transferred to the client.

Results of system implementation

Main results of system implementation of InStock WMS:

  • system implementation of InStock WMS and study business of processes in the client's warehouse, allow to expand "bottlenecks" thereby increasing the overall performance of a warehouse;
  • reduction of a cycle of selection, for example, from 2 to 40 o'clock min. to order (increases capacity of a warehouse);

System implementation options

InStock Technologies offers one of three options of system implementation at choice of the client:

  • traditional technique (an implementation time makes 4-5 months, this option will be suitable for difficult projects in the companies with already planned budget);
  • Easy Start option (the term of the project is 1-1.5 months, implementation is performed as soon as possible and with the minimum costs);
  • cloud InStock WMS option (a system in lease with a possibility of the subsequent redemption).

In all cases the same warehouse management system InStock WMS is implemented. Differences consist in the organization of process of implementation.

Traditional implementation of WMS

The functionality of InStock WMS is volume and satisfies to the majority of needs of each client. Additional functions are initially developed in the basic version and at once become available to the existing and new clients.

In traditional approach at system implementation in a warehouse the process "TO BE" is studied with all possible features with the predicted growth of the company. These processes are described, configured, tested, the personnel study them, and they are started already on start of work of a warehouse under WMS, with the purpose to provide all functionality of WMS, possible for this company, for one stage – as the uniform project.

This option of an implementation project has a traditional payment method and suits more the companies at which the budget on the project is already defined.

Cloud InStock WMS option

The cloud InStock WMS option is a WMS system in lease. The company makes the small monthly rent approximately equal to the salary of one programmer, and uses a full-function professional warehouse management system.

The payment covers the cost of the software, works on system implementation, technical support.

The rent payment method with a possibility of the subsequent redemption of a system reduces financial risks of the customer and helps to decide on the choice of WMS and the budget on the project.

In what cases cloud InStock WMS is choice option:

  • In case of lack of the necessary budget on the project in a current period of time. The budget on the project of traditional implementation of a professional system requires preliminary planning, however, the current monthly expenses which are possible for using for payment of a system in leases are provided in any budget.
  • Possibility of payment of a system from the monthly profit got from use of cloud InStock WMS. Payment of lease of WMS is made from the profit got from its use. This simple principle is underlain in a basis of many schemes of business: the operator of safe custody, for example, as a rule, does not build and does not buy a warehouse on which he works as it requires serious one-time investments, and pays its lease from the got profit. Lease of WMS just joins in monthly costs of the company. Such approach is more interesting to many companies, than large one-time costs for which it is required to accumulate funds.
  • Ability to manage project budget. The customer can suspend payment of the rent at any time.
  • Possibility of receiving in addition in lease of the equipment and services of administration for start of a system - servers for placement of a system, the system software, including their service and administration (on the basis of the rent), services in administration of a system after start (if the customer has no own system administrator).
  • Minimum of financial risks and costs. In case of refusal from use of a System financial risks are minimum and limited only to the cost of development of terms of reference as lease was already paid for use of a system. The customer pays the smaller amount in comparison with traditional implementation (the cost of payment of traditional implementation and cloud option will even out only in 4.5 years). The redemption of a system can be made at any time when the customer is already completely confident that a system suits it, conforms to his requirements and is checked by operating time in its warehouse.

Implementation Easy Start

The InStock Technologies company of one of warehouse automation systems, the first in the market, developed a technique of system implementation of WMS for short term under the name "Easy Start" - 29 working days on implementation.

The technique is constantly improved, incorporating the best practices. The main idea of implementation "Easy start" consists in start of a system as soon as possible and with the minimum costs. The customer begins to take in a month advantages of work of a warehouse under control of WMS and, if necessary, to develop functionality of a system, configuring additional business processes.

Today InStock Technologies performed successful implementation of a project group by a technique Easy Start. Implementations of WMS were carried out in warehouses of operators of safe custody and also – in own warehouse complexes of several large producers of home appliances and automobile spare parts.

On the basis of the accumulated experience of system implementation of WMS, in the company with confidence say that when using a technique Easy Start, the total cost of the project for the customer decreases, the factor of "excess" work considerably decreases that in total reduces terms of input of the WMS system in operation and increases quality of the implemented projects.


Technology steps of start of the project

In methodology Easy Start is supposed 3 possible technology steps of start of the project.

The first step – start of a system without shipping documentation in general: on "paper technology".

It will allow:

  • it is considerable to reduce initial investments on the equipment and licenses,
  • at the same time, to execute integration ERP-WMS
  • implement address storage,
  • transfer data to the WMS system, in other words, for the minimum investments to execute the most difficult project elements on system implementation, at the same time, risks of implementation considerably are reduced.

The second step – intermediate - start of a system where all processes except selection and replenishment are executed with the shipping documentation.

The third step – start of all processes with the shipping documentation, but all the same on methodology Easy Start.

The customer can perform start of a system from any step.

Methodology essence "Easy start"

In the course of implementation tuning only of necessary functionality of the current version of a system is performed. Implementation is executed in close interaction with the customer's employees, on the set methodology and the plan of implementation.

The project is expected 29 working days (it is not dependent on with what step the project begins). Every day methodology it is accurately painted. This term can be increased if the customer will not be able to submit the equipment within the terms allotted according to the plan, to paste over a warehouse, to develop loading unloading of data from ERP: in this case works stop before completion of works of the customer.

From the initial project, usually, setup of features of the processes complicating system testing, personnel training and support of start is excluded. Processes of a compression, vymeshcheniye of goods, difficult options of placement and selection belong to such processes, for example. A specific framework of the initial project is approved with the customer individually.

In case of absence at the customer of the server at the time of start of the project, a system is customized on virtual machines at capacities of the contractor. After emergence of the server in the customer, virtual machines are transferred to servers/servers.

Integration with an ERP system of the client, or other systems is executed in the format offered InStock Technologies. Integration in a format of the client is also possible, if necessary, however such works will have additional value.

Input of a commodity remaining balance for launch in a system is executed by fixed functions of a system: transactions of acceptance or inventory. Also, development and narrower (customized) solution on transfer of a commodity remaining balance in a system from the existing systems of the client is possible.

In case of system implementation in a warehouse of safe custody, on methodology Easy Start is implemented only 1 owner of goods. Tuning of merchandising of other owners is performed either by the customer independently, or the contractor within the supplementary agreement.

Total, in one and a half-two months the working group of the project can start a system in a warehouse, but not be satisfied with what has already been achieved. And it is the fundamental principle of this approach distinguishing InStock Technologies from many competitors. Further system learning by the customer and target implementation of more difficult processes, complication current, or transition from paper technology to the shipping documentation follows. But it will be the works which are already realized by the customer which can be executed independently, or with involvement of consultants of InStock Technologies.

Not to stop at a stage of start of WMS, the customer should be completely informed on what result he will receive in each of options and what else will be able to receive later, having taken the following steps. Thus, the project according to the scheme "Easy Start" assumes study of "road map" of implementation of functionality and process optimization on a certain interval of time.

The key to success is not only in approach to the project, but also in technology readiness of the warehouse management system. WMS should mean a possibility of independent setup by the customer of options and nuances of business processes for a possibility of their development and improvement. Naturally, such setup should be made without use of programming and change of the system code not to reduce reliability of functioning of a system and all warehouse in general.
