In September, 2016 VTB 24 bank provided the new platform of network of the data centers. It was constructed in 2015 – then engineering infrastructure was prepared, and official start in operation with the computing equipment took place in the summer of 2016, told TAdviser in VTB 24.

In new DPC of VTB 24

The new DPC is located near the station of m. "Southern" in Moscow. Its area is 270 sq.m. As of September its machine hall is filled less than half. VTB 24 note that in bank short planning horizon and utilization of the equipment, in process of requirement. For the future the bank does not stock up with the equipment.

The equipment located in the turbine hall as of September, 2016 is used under the automated banking system (ABS), the Big Data systems, databases, etc. Also there is an engineering equipment of Oracle. VTB 24 say that in bank one of the installations of the engineering systems of Oracle, largest in Russia.

In addition to the new platform in the same building three more data centers work. They were open in 2007, 2009 and 2011. After VTB 24 put the third data center into operation, it was filled very quickly therefore construction of the fourth DPC began practically at once.

In addition to these platforms, VTB 24 uses as disaster-proof reserve DPC the platform in data center of VTB in Perovo.

As of September, 2016 in total in data centers on Southern more than 2000 physical servers are placed. About a half of them at the same time is placed in the DPC No. 3 started in 2011. In total in data centers about 200 different IT systems of bank are based.

The total area of all DPCs is 820 sq.m, the total volume of storage systems – about 7 PB, the total brought electric power for the IT equipment – about 2 MW.

In DPCs the equipment of Oracle, IBM, Teradata, HP, etc. is used. The head of department of computer systems VTB 24 Andrey Ivashchenko notes that their bank – the builder of infrastructures, largest in Eastern Europe, based on VMare: VTB 24 has one of the large-scale farms of server virtualization and virtual desktops. In bank about 3000 virtual servers and about 7000 active virtual work places. In the next VTB 24 is going to virtualize few years to 20,000 jobs of bank.

DPCs on Southern have separate engineering infrastructure, but at the same time the general system of communications and monitoring. All four platforms are connected by the uniform optical structured cabling system (SCS) which allows to transfer data at a speed up to 40 Gbps.

For placement of the equipment with high energy consumption and heat release within construction of DPC pressurized zones with the interline Stulz conditioners allowing to increase the power density of the equipment installed in racks twice are designed and mounted.
