Joint Stock Company "Corporation" Strategic Control Points "was formed on May 2, 2012 by reorganization in the form of transformation of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise" Central Design Bureau of Heavy Engineering. "
The Order of the Red Banner of Labor FSUE "Central Design Bureau of Heavy Engineering," the parent enterprise for the creation of systems of highly protected command posts, was formed in 1947 in order to create land equipment units for launching Soviet missiles (R-1, R-2, R-5, R-7, etc.). The first intercontinental rocket, the first satellite and the first cosmonaut were launched into Earth orbit using ground equipment units developed by specialists from the TsKB TM.
The company developed and manufactured lifting and installation units, protective devices and other equipment for Strategic Missile Forces combat missile systems, as well as tilters and vertical missile loading units for submarines for the Navy. The staff of SPU-TsKB TM Corporation JSC designed and manufactured lifting and installation equipment, towers and service farms, refueling cable masts, emergency evacuation systems and other ground-based units for Vostok, Soyuz, Mir, JSC «Proton», N-1, Energia-Buran rocket and space systems, international programs "Sea Launch" and "Guiana Space Center."
In addition to the main research and production site in the city of Moscow, JSC SPU-TsKB TM Corporation has a branch of JSC Strategic Control Points Corporation Titan Special Design Bureau and a branch of JSC Strategic Control Points Corporation KB Mah in St. Petersburg. The company also has two representative offices in the Sverdlovsk and Arkhangelsk regions.
SPU-TsKB TM Corporation JSC carries out research, development and technological developments to create various command and control points, ground equipment for delivery, installation, maintenance, refueling and pre-launch preparation of missiles at launch sites and in other R&D areas.
As of September 2016, the main areas of activity of the enterprise are:
- Establishment of command and control posts of different levels and basing types;
- development of stationary and retractable antenna-feeder devices;
- development of plastic depreciation systems;
- development, manufacture and testing of ground equipment units: installers, service towers, filling and drainage devices, elevators and special lifts, protective devices and other equipment for missile launch systems;
- creation of unique power hydropneumoelectric drives with control systems for operation in any climatic conditions and aggressive environments;
- development and manufacture of a wide range of hydraulic and pneumatic power equipment;
- creation of equipped protective structures for maintenance personnel of nuclear power plants.
