For September 1, 2014 the Smart Checkout service is set in 32 shops of Magnit network in the Southern and Volga federal districts that increased a project scope to 1000 cash registers. It will expand monthly audience of the project to 8 — 10 million people.
Pilot project in Magnet
On December 7, 2011 Smart Checkout started in Krasnodar, in retail chain stores Magnet[1].
From December, 2011 to April, 2012 actions on products and services of several companies were carried out at once. As participants of the first start of the SMART CHECKOUT system EFES, Kellogg’s, Nestle Russia (Nestlé Russia), Reckitt Benckiser, Alfa-Bank, the Wine-making manor Phanagoria, the Russian Alcohol, Tea company "Sapsan" and others acted.
During the project such mechanics as targeted discounts, a gift for purchase and information actions were implemented.
The director of Open Retail Alexander Shurov noted: "Participation in a pilot project in retail chain stores Magnet allowed the companies to test the new communication channel from different segments of the market and to understand reaction of buyers. Results show relevance of a system for the Russian market. In our plans development of SMART CHECKOUT in federal retail chain stores with attraction of the maximum number of the Russian and foreign producers wishing to bring communication with the buyers in retail outlets to the new quality level and efficiency".
