"The new concession company" was prepared for use of BIM in construction of the backup of Kutuzovsky Avenue

On September 20, 2016 PSS company announced participation in development and implementation of the complex contract on implementation of a technique of BIM in the project of creation of the Northern backup of Kutuzovsky Avenue in Moscow. Customer of JSC New Concession Company.

Project Tasks

In December, 2014 JSC New Concession Company construction and operation on a paid basis of section of a linear object of a street road network ""The northern backup of Kutuzovsky Avenue from the Molodogvardeysky traffic intersection to MMDTs "Moscow CITY" along the Smolensk direction of the Moscow Railway of" (SDKP)" signed the concessionary agreement which subject - financing.

The project startup purpose – decrease in a transport load on Kutuzovsky Avenue and section of Mozhayskoye Highway. Start of the movement on SDKP will significantly improve a road situation in the west of Moscow.

Term of action of concession of 40 years. General investment project cost ~ 40 billion rubles. For financing of the project the concessionaire is going to issue concession bonds and to raise funds of non-state pension funds.

BIM will be used for all project lifecycle within the Russia's first 40 years' concession. Software products are for this purpose used:

• Civil 3D,
• Navisworks,
• Revit,
• Vault Professional with DarkStream adaptation packet.

Terms of a project startup of the Northern backup of Kutuzovsky Avenue very compressed so we should make quickly and reasonably project decisions. We selected the partner in implementation of advanced technologies of design and stopped on the technology of information modeling (BIM) based on solutions of Autodesk company. The choice for benefit of PSS as partner in implementation, it was caused by the fact that this company could propose to implement complex approach of BIM, provide us the complete system architecture constructed on the Autodesk platform. Application of BIM during creation and exploitation of the Northern backup of Kutuzovsky Avenue – very ambitious and interesting project. For implementation of BIM it was necessary to make a lot of things – from development of requirements to providing design data in a format of information models by all project participants before creation of regulations of interaction of participants of process through uniform access point and training of employees, - tells. Project Progress

For project implementation solutions of design of infrastructure facilities are selected: Autodesk of AutoCAD Civil 3D for a linear part of the project and Autodesk Revit – for work on artificial and architectural constructions. For processing in a unified environment of different sections of the project - Autodesk Navisworks.

One of tasks within the project - ensuring effective interaction of the customer, general designer, other project participants in the environment of the general data. It was required to create a single system of engineering document flow, to give to users an opportunity of approval of documentation in electronic form using this system, to organize the uniform data warehouse, having provided relevance of all information. As a result a choice was made for benefit of Autodesk Vault Professional.

The choice of the solution was influenced also that all project participants anyway used solutions of Autodesk.

Within the project it was required to solve a problem of support of all lifecycle of documents – from development to a final statement and transfer to the archives. Feature of the project - participation in the project of external contractors that caused need to provide a possibility of change of user rights at certain stages of lifecycle of the file in Autodesk Vault. Besides, in the project in a complex with the solution Autodesk Vault Professional for control and issue of tasks the packet of adaptation of DarkStream of Brownie Software company is used.

Due to the participation in the project of the independent companies the system architecture providing replication of the project participants given between servers is applied:

• the primary server was placed directly in JSC New Concession Company - via this server there is the main work
• the server at the general designer, it helps to send quickly all project data,
• the server at the contractor on artificial constructions who also performs large volume of works in the project.

Access to a system can be provided to those at whom in a workplace the client is not set – for example, potential subcontractor. At the same time access to documents is executed in a read mode, and for editing documents will deploy the Buzzsaw server. Such architecture allows connection of subcontractor to the server by means of the Internet browser. Communication between servers is implemented on the protected VPN channel.

Within the project regulations and the requirements of work with BIM models obligatory are developed for execution by all project participants. Besides, many technical moments, for example, need of simultaneous updating of components of a system are stated in regulations. That a system worked correctly, it is necessary to provide synchronization of the set versions of software.

Drawing up regulations and requirements – one of the most important parts of the BIM project. PSS company which acts as our BIM consultant helps with it. Experts of PSS made inspection of potential project participants, helped us to prepare documents and to deal with the current workflows, interaction between participants. In the course of implementation we used different standards – including foreign. However, as a result we departed from them.
