DarkStream

• DarkStream is the application package and enterprise level templates optimizing use, administration, implementation and further scaling of a management system for design data of Autodesk Vault Professional.

These are boxed solutions in the field of electronic document management for architectural construction companies allow to adjust joint work at the expense of the solution of a number of tasks: structuring large volumes of project information, access to the latests version, tracking of task performance between divisions, protection of intellectual property, understanding of a project status.

Packet of adaptation of DarkStream for Autodesk Vault Professional – a flagship product of the Russian software company Brownie Software. This solution is intended for the companies which are engaged in design of objects of industrial and civil function. It allows to expand significantly possibilities of the Autodesk Vault platform, to simplify its implementation and also to optimize use and scaling. As a result of DarkStream use process performance and labor productivity of employees – GIPOV, chiefs of departments and contractors significantly increases. Actually complete solution Autodesk Vault with a packet of adaptation of DarkStream is the finished system of technical document flow which is initially considering the Russian realities and basic needs of the companies working in the industry of PGS in the Russian Federation.

DarkStream is built in the Vault interface, adding the new toolbar. Thus, users get access to templates of folder structure and management of them, tools for registration of the project and also issue and approval of tasks. Use of a packet of adaptation of DarkStream allows to build the accurate technology chain of work with Vault covering all stages of the project.

Among advantages of the solution there is an existence of wide functionality for work with projects, tasks and control over their accomplishment, also a possibility of obtaining reports on the project progress by the issued tasks and integration into the MS Project program scheduler.

2016: DarkStream 2017Q3

On November 8, 2016 the Brownie Software company announced release of the version of DarkStream. As a part of release the usability is improved, interaction between employees is optimized.

Changes in DarkStream 2017Q3 affected process of issue of tasks: now it can be done one click, without using a window of tasks, and selecting necessary files for transfer to adjacent divisions from the standard Vault window. Users had an opportunity of viewing the event log, sorting or filtering according to requirements, to trace date of issue of tasks in all tabs of the list of tasks and to pass from a task into the folder where the selected file is stored. In this version of DarkStream there was a possibility of creation of lifecycle of tasks on the basis of the operating lifecycles.

Trends in software development do not change - it is always simplification of the interface and improvement of a usability. Whatever difficult and functional was a system, the user wants that it was most convenient to him, it was not necessary to do many movements that the solution itself prompted what to do next. We try to listen to responses and needs of our clients therefore we from the very beginning developed new versions of DarkStream taking into account a feedback. Experience showed that such strategy is right: the number of users of Vault with a packet of DarkStream grows, our command prepares for several implementation projects in the different cities of Russia. We see that heads and chiefs of divisions receive many letters from different sources. It leads to the fact that important notifications about change of the statuses connected with tasks "sink" in such flow of correspondence. We want to change a situation and we consider several candidate solutions of this task: it and grouping of messages in the client of Vault, and integration into the most popular corporate messengers, and an internal chat and also reduction of number of the letters forming at the same time for the same user by their grouping in the uniform digest of news. Also we will continue to improve the user interface and to reduce the number of actions of the user for a call of the necessary function. Besides, we also work on improvement of the online instruction on a product, doing it more detailed and clear not only to administrators, but also ordinary users. 2015: DarkStream 2016

On October 22, 2015 the Brownie Software company announced a release of the version of DarkStream 2016. It is possible to solve a number of the problems facing the project and construction organizations with its help.

The version of DarkStream 2016 represents the system of technical document flow integrated into Vault. For this reason of DarkStream call sometimes an adaptation packet for Autodesk Vault which expands its opportunities and makes implementation at the enterprise easier more effectively.

DarkStream allows to use Autodesk Vault Professional as the full-fledged management system for design data and technical document flow connected with scheduling. These two applications will organize effective, harmonious joint work of all internal and external project participants, whether it be an industrial or civil facility, and take its key transactions on operating control.

Changes

• The interface of the program is upgraded. Changes affected server, client parts. The options simplifying problem definition, the notification of all participants and control of accomplishment are added to the procedure of issue of tasks.

• For convenience of project participants full-text search in tables on contents of available fields is added. At the editor of lifecycles of tasks the graphical interface is modified. Significant changes mentioned the tools for project managers allowing to trace the project progress. For example, the performed process of a task is presented in the graphic form that very visually and informatively. The project manager can trace not only a stage of accomplishment, but also task performance percent.

• Opportunities, like the chart Ganta for the project plan, color display of each cycle of a task, planning of the personal and delegated tasks, exchange of comments between participants of a task optimize work and allows the project manager to watch project implementation at all stages of lifecycle.

• Several options for the project managers reducing number of routine transactions of planning and delegation of tasks are added to setup of integration Autodesk Vault and MS Project.

• The report generator on performing discipline is implemented. Project managers received "the designer of reports" instead of not edited standard report of the previous version.

• The manager can create the report now in that type which is most convenient to it, displaying only necessary information, to save user preferences of the report for repeated application.

• One of the most important options of the version of the program - the editor of the user properties for all objects of DarkStream. It is possible to create and edit new user properties for a card of the project, a task, department, a position, a status, lifecycle, the user account.

• Work with templates became simpler – in the editor of templates the feature for the choice of lifecycle for folders of Vault is added, besides, the possibility of copying of the folder between templates appeared.

In the version it is relied on color indication which helps to orient quicker in project implementation stages. For example, links to files over which work is carried out are separately highlighted in the color. System comments and comments of users are displayed in different flowers.
