Research institute of standardization and unification (NIISU)

The federal state unitary enterprise "Research Institute of Standardization and Unification" (Federal State Unitary Enterprise NIISU) is created as All-Union research institute in 1956 for development of the specifications and technical documentation, carrying out research and development on creation and tests of products of defense and civil appointment for the benefit of promptly developing aviation industry.

Now Federal State Unitary Enterprise NIISU is under departmental supervision of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and is parent organization on standardization, cataloguing, metrological support and quality management of defense products of the aviation industry and the industry of conventional arms.

Federal State Unitary Enterprise NIISU is the leading scientific organization in the field of an agregatostroyeniye for the aircraft equipment, the organizer of works of shopping mall 323rd Aircraft equipment and ISO/TK20 "Aviation and spacecrafts", one of founders of Union of Aviaproducers Non-profit partnership.

Main activities:

• The organization and work in the field of standardization and unification, certification and metrology, cataloguing, classification and coding.
• Participation in work of the international and foreign standardization organizations (ISO, ARINC, ASD, etc.).
• Development of new technologies, materials and equipment for a MIC and aviation industry.
• Design and exploration work and design of the non-standard equipment.
• Foreign economic activity in the field of the organization of service maintenance of products of the aircraft equipment of domestic production: delivery, maintenance (repair and upgrade), design and creation of repair and offset productions in the territory of customers.
• Development, together with industry institutes, the developer enterprises and manufacturers, the regulating documents meeting the requirements of ICAO and directed to increase in safety of operation of the Russian aircraft equipment.
• Maintenance of a complex of long-term actions for quality improvement of products of aircraft industry and MIC.
• Creation and maintaining the fund numbering more than 25 thousand regulating documents on standardization of products of the organizations of aviation industry and a MIC.
• System coordination of development of perspective units and the systems of an air aircraft equipment, Research and Development on development, production and tests of units and systems, the standardized parts, nodes and products of broad application for the aircraft equipment.
• Monitoring, creation and information technology implementation, including technologies of information support of products at all stages of lifecycle (IPI-technologies).
