ELAR digitized registers of births from the State archive of the Yaroslavl region

According to representatives of organization, digital images of the main documentary sources on studying of history of a sort and drawing up a family tree will be loaded into the AIS Archive system and are available to users both in the reading room, and through the Internet.

Section of digitization of registers of births was equipped in the territory of State archive of the Yaroslavl region with the Planskan ELAR scanners with a special cradle for the sewed documents from 10 to 70 cm thick and up to 50 kg. "The scanner with the strengthened cradle was developed by us in 2013 for scanning of genealogical documents from the Russian state archive of ancient acts. And this equipment is successfully used to project implementation on careful and high-quality digitization of archivings", - the deputy manager of department on work with archives of ELAR corporation Alexander Komissarov commented.

The state archive of the Yaroslavl region is among the largest regional archives of the Russian Federation, its documentary meeting contains more than 3.6 million units of storage. The collection of documents of pre-revolutionary funds occupies one of the leading places in Central Federal District, and sixteen of them are included in the State register of unique documents of Archive fund of the Russian Federation. Registers of births, ispovedny paintings, revizsky fairy tales are the most demanded at users of State archive of the Yaroslavl region.
