2022: Making profit for the first time in post-Soviet history - 147.6 million rubles
The Russian state circus company (Rosgoscirk) in 2022 for the first time in the entire post-Soviet period received a net profit - it amounted to 147.6 million rubles. We are talking about receipts for touring and rental activities, the press service of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation reported at the end of January 2023.
The occupancy rate of auditoriums in circuses in 2022 increased by 22% compared to 2021. If a few years ago the average did not exceed 34-35%, then in 2022 the average for all circuses eventually reached a record 57%, the Rosgoscirk noted.
They also indicated that two festivals of circus art - in Budapest and Girona - Russian artists became triumphs. Two international circus art festivals were held in Russia - in Saratov and St. Petersburg. Artists and experts from more than 25 countries of the world took part in them.
In 2022, the company organized numerous charitable performances for more than 17 thousand children of Donbass. In addition, in September, the program of the Russian State Circus "Prince of the Circus" visited the Lugansk People's Republic on tour. The artists held 35 performances there, 63 thousand people visited the show in Lugansk. And on the eve of the New Year holidays, the Rosgoscirk held a cycle of shows of New Year's performances for family members of participants in a special military operation on a charitable basis in all its branches.
At the end of 2022, Rosgoscirk allocated 120 million rubles for the arrangement of the life of its artists, and in 2023 all hostels and hotels of the company will be equipped with new furniture and household appliances. Beds, orthopedic mattresses, refrigerators, washing machines, microwave ovens and much more have already been purchased. This measure will improve the living conditions of circus artists spending outside their own home up to 10 months a year.[1]
