Auchan in Russia saved 266 million rubles using SAP

2018: HR transformation in network of hypermarkets

The companies "Auchan Retail Russia", SAP also MOLGA Consulting announced end of the first stage large-scale HR- transformations in network of hypermarkets. On June 26, 2018 the SAP CIS company reported about it. Based on SAP Human Capital Management (HCM) processes of employee administration, organizational management, a time recording and payroll are automated. And also the functionality of a personal account of 42,500 employees is implemented, process of collecting is optimized and data storage, information exchange between heads and the staff of HR departments is adjusted. As a result economy for business of the company made 266 million rubles.

Initially business personnel management processes were concentrated in different IT systems. The staff of departments of human resource management had to spend a lot of time for accomplishment of routine tasks manually: data entry in the different systems, consolidation of information for reports and check of their correctness. Support of the legislative changes numerous for the sphere of personnel activity in the Russian Federation, was performed independently with big labor costs. Before cooperation with SAP and MOLGA this process was too labor-consuming and Auchan did not cover all business needs.

Using SAP HCM and solutions of MOLGA the single system of a time recording and payroll was created, the quantity of IT systems which needed to be used in the course of personnel office-work was reduced. Besides the transparency of personnel processes grew, and the efficiency of HR department increased twice. Due to elimination of double entry of data in the different systems it was succeeded to lower time expenditure on information processing about employees at acceptance, transfer and dismissal, on filling of the actual sheet and its check for payroll calculation. Thanks to emergence of personal accounts, it became possible to simplify information exchange between heads and department of work with personnel.

2017: Memorandum of partnership SAP CIS and Auchan Russia

On June 2, 2017 the SAP CIS company and Auchan Russia signed the memorandum of partnership within the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (PIEF-2017). Cooperation will be directed to continuation of the innovative development of the project of SAP in the field of personnel management.

The memorandum includes a new stage of development of the existing system in personnel management of SAP HCM which joint project on implementation began in October, 2016. A main objective — creation of the uniform centralized IT system, unification of HR processes, reduction of terms of formation and providing the reporting and also cost optimization. A system will cover 41,000 employees of all formats of shops of the Russian network: hypermarkets, a superhundred-ditch, supermarkets and shops "at the house".

Throughout cooperation between the companies further stages of development of the solution will be defined. The companies consider the possibilities of carrying out conjoint analysis of the HR functions and their digital transformation: services of self-service, processes of quality improvement of goal setting and assessment of employees, review of salaries, formation of a talent pool, recruiting and also perspective of creation of a corporate portal. Using the SAP solution, Auchan Russia is going to increase the involvement of employees and labor productivity due to acceleration of obtaining necessary information and cutting of costs for work in separate IT systems.

2016: Start of the project on development of a single system of personnel management

In the fall of 2016 it became known that SAP CIS and MOLGA Consulting will develop the uniform centralized control system of personnel of one of the retail chain stores, largest in Russia, Auchan Retail Russia. The project will be implemented based on the SAP solution HCM.

Project objective — creation of the uniform centralized IT system, unification of HR processes, reduction of terms of formation and providing the reporting and also cost optimization. With SAP implementation the HCM company is going to increase loyalty of employees and labor productivity due to acceleration of obtaining necessary information and cutting of costs for work in separate IT systems. Besides, the solution will allow to minimize a human factor by preparation of the personnel reporting.

"The lack of a single automated system which could cover all business processes on personnel management does not allow to build effectively the corresponding processes and conducts to a personnel demotivating. At the same time the main richness of our company — people, the happy employee makes happy the buyer. We calculate that SAP HCM will become the convenient corporate system allowing to implement fully our needs for personnel management" — the HR director told Auchan Retail Russia Olga Afanasyeva.

By the end of 2017 it is going to start a new system in all legal entities and branches of the company. Feature of the solution which we should implement, that it includes not only new technological solutions of SAP, but also services of self-service which will allow to involve employees in use of a system. Also during the project modules of management of organizational structure, calculation of salaries, management of working time, personnel records and process automation of interaction will be implemented.
