On July 25, 2018 Cisco submitted to the Russian customers and partners the solution SD-WAN on the basis of technologies of the intentsionno-focused networks.
The SD-WAN technology is intended for creation of the flexible scalable distributed corporate networks. Its feature is separation of levels of transport and control that allows to manage on a centralized basis use of transport networks by remote branches.
The solution Cisco SD-WAN increases reliability of work of a distributed network, the continuity of business processes depends on this factor – whether orders are taken whether clients are serviced, whether transactions are made. Up to 80% of all transactions in the geographically distributed companies are made in branches owing to what smooth functioning of applications in them is the most important task of IT. At the heart of this solution – to neutralize developments of Cisco in the field of IBN (Intent-based networking, the intentsionno-focused networks) which are result of our work on creation of an intuitive system capable to expect actions in a security risk germ and also to be improved and study continuously. Implementation of Cisco SD-WAN will allow customers to accelerate significantly process of connection of additional branches and to reduce the accompanying costs. It is actually possible to send the terminal unit to remote office by mail, and to configure it far off clicking of the button at the central office. Using Cisco SD-WAN are optimized also expenses on channels from telecom operators, at the same time it is not necessary to donate the service level of clients. It is reached at the expense of a mix of transport infrastructure from providers – MPLS, access to Internet, a mobile network of data transmission 3G/4G.
At the same time a set of functionality Quality experience allows to monitor preserving of level of work of each specific application in real time, considering a current status of the channel.
One more key difference of Cisco SD-WAN – security level from cyberthreats. Reduction of risk of cybersecurity on the distributed network is provided with the built-in package of measures – segmentation, enciphering, support of logical topology, service points and also external means of cybersecurity – as set in perimeter (ASA, NGFW), and cloud (Cisco Umbrella). As a result time of detection of threats in network decreases in hundreds of times that minimizes potential losses of the companies from data loss and costs for recovery of information.
The solution Cisco SD-WAN allows to provide flexibility in the choice of the terminal equipment, it can be both classical Cisco routers, and original vEdge devices, as well as their virtualized versions.
The managing Cisco SD-WAN applications include a centralized system of orchestration and management which can be placed both in a cloud of Cisco and in DPC of the company.

On July 19, 2018 Citrix and Microsoft were announced the joint partner solution Citrix SD-WAN within a cloud platform of Azure for Azure Virtual WAN service. On October 27, 2016 the Citrix company announced expansion of functionality of the NetScaler SD-WAN platform for ensuring the delivery of applications joint with intellectual technology of routing.
By means of NetScaler SD-WAN the Citrix company proposes to customers the simple, complete solution which helps with large-scale deployment of SD-WAN, reduces excess complexity of networks of the companies and represents to branches simple, secure access to applications from a cloud environment.
NetScaler SD-WAN is the technology of software-defined WAN networks focused on use within one inexpensive physical system with the integrated instruments of control. The technology, ready to use, integrates in itself virtualization of WAN connections taking into account features of separate applications, dynamic routing, separate routing domains, optimization, end-to-end monitoring, support of the Citrix HDX protocols and the protected Internet switching. To simplify deployment and to reduce its cost, Citrix the system of the protected cloud services of Zero Touch Deployment. Zero Touch Deployment services allow to refuse need of use of technical specialists on places due to automation of process of installation and offer a special tool which prevents access of unauthorized devices to network.

Functionality of NetScaler SD-WAN 9.1 solves problems which the companies at upgrade of the corporate networks using SD-WAN face:

Internet traffic coming from branch can be directed via a secure channel to the platform of cloud security which offers the Secure Web Gateway (SWG) functions, the cloud gateway of security, the mode of creation of "sandboxes" and other functions of protection of remote offices. The same way NetScaler SD-WAN supports the protected connection to prime vendors of cloud services, including Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure.

The ongoing virtualization of data center infrastructure and integration of cloud computing resources make it imperative to be able to dynamically shift and monitor workloads across those environments. As data center networks have grown to encompass thousands of devices, existing architectures have proven inadequate for rapid deployment of applications and unable to keep up with the agility requirements of today’s business environment.

It also reviews the development of standards such as and the more recent OpFlex open policy protocol that complements it. It will then look at how the Application Centric Networking model from has developed to create a more complete solution for SDN that combines L4 — 7 services from Citrix using the NetScaler ADC.
While virtualization of compute and storage have made those infrastructures more efficient, the network has not kept pace, leaving data centers struggling to leverage such advances. Proprietary legacy networking solutions make it difficult for organizations to adapt new technologies needed to create innovative services and are barriers to achieving the full potential of enterprise cloud computing.
