Hoff implemented technology of Electronic Data Interchange with partners

On November 2, 2016 the Columbus company announced system implementation of Electronic Data Interchange with suppliers on the basis of Columbus EDI Studio in network of hypermarkets of furniture and goods for Hoff house.

Project Tasks

Business development of network of hypermarkets of furniture and goods for the house of Hoff led to increase in volumes of manual processing of documentation and electronic correspondence, in particular, supplier orders went by means of e-mails that did not provide due control of process of communication with suppliers.

Before specialists of Hoff there was a need of system implementation of Electronic Data Interchange, automating routine transactions and a transmission system of supplier orders.

After studying of offers of vendors, experts of Hoff selected the solution Columbus EDI Studio. The project was going to be implemented by own forces. Providing a packet of a free consulting support of experts of Columbus became an additional argument for benefit of the choice of the supplier.

Project Progress

The network of hypermarkets of furniture and goods for Hoff house since July, 2016 started project implementation on use of EDI messages "Purchase order" (ORDERS) and "The answer to order" (ORDRSP), transferred through Columbus EDI Studio. Duration of technical implementation was three months, the project was executed by forces of specialists of Hoff with assistance of consultants of Columbus.

For November 2, 2016 there is a stage of replication of the project. Transfer of work with all suppliers to the system of the electronic order is by the end of the year planned.

Project Results

Project implementation on Electronic Data Interchange with suppliers helped Hoff to reduce labor costs by accomplishment of the procedure of sending and order confirmation to 20%, i.e. in general allows to save in the amount about 40 working hours of staff of Hoff every week.

The solution EDI Studio helped to reduce the handmade volume of employees of commercial directorate, to minimize errors. Development has rather flexible architecture that allowed us to implement the project by own efforts, relying only on a first line support of Columbus. Further we are going to use one more solution of a line Columbus BIS – Connectivity Studio which will allow to integrate Dynamics AX and 1C, for example.
