On November 10, 2016 it became known the fact that employees of the government of Singapore became the first government employees who will use corporate social network Facebook Workplace. Writes the GovInsider edition with reference to the head of the state agency on work with personnel Peter Ong about it.
We started Workplace in October. At the first stage 15 state institutions and more than 5300 government employees were connected — reported Ong. |
According to him, by March, 2017 it is going to connect all — about 143 thousand — the staff of the government of the country. It will cost the authorities $155 thousand (about 9.8 million rubles) a year.
Before transition to Facebook Workplace the government of Singapore used own social network under the name Cube which was started in 2013. This project did not become failure, but also had no great influence, Peter Ong noted.
The main shortcomings of Cube he called impossibility of use on smartphones, the unclear interface and slow loading. When choosing new service for interaction of employees questions of information security support, compatibility with mobile devices, cost and simplicity in operation were taken into account, added Ong.
Facebook Workplace can work on smartphones and tablets, without being connected to internal network of government employees. 82% of state workers in Singapore whereas the indicator of implementation of Cube for the same time was measured by 61% became active users of this service less than in a month.
We noticed that we at the expense of the publication of the main declarations in Workplace of organization reduced number of the e-mails sent on internal mail — Peter Ong said, having added that the new social network Facebook helped to improve interaction between the top management and ordinary personnel.[1] |
