Renaissance Insurance purchased the French server

On November 29, 2016 the Bull company announced completion of installation of the Escala E4-800 server in the Renaissance Insurance Group.

Project Tasks

Within the project of upgrade of a server framework of one of the main IT services, the company considered solutions on the RISC platform. As a result of pilot testing the decision for benefit of the Bull server hardware was made.

Main selection terms:

• performance,
• simplicity of integration into the operating IT infrastructure
• total cost of ownership in five-year perspective.

Training Renaissance Insurance, (2012)

The offered Bull Escala platform has the balanced characteristics. It is completely compatible to the used technologies by means of the industrial AIX operating system and IBM Power technology. The platform supports the RAS functions (reliability, working capacity and convenience of operation) of the level of mainframes and security necessary for reliable work of crucial applications.

Project Progress

In the customer's IT infrastructure an ustanovlenyserver of Escala E4-800 with two Power8 processors (frequency 4.15GHz, 8 cores) and 384 GB of RAM. With it the optimal range of services and solutions by means of which it is possible to create economic and safe infrastructure is offered.

Project Results

At the moment to the companies there is a process of migration of the productional environment on the new platform which we are going to complete until the end of the year. We expect that after transfer of load of the new server hardware the speed of work of DBMS and consequently also the key business application considerably will increase.
