Odrex together with Medtronic opened private Heart clinic in Odessa

2018: Opening of "Heart clinic of Odrex"

As it became known on April 13, 2018, the Ukrainian medical house of Odrex within the delivery agreement of complete solutions in the field of health care with Medtronic company opened in Odessa the high-tech cardiological center — "Heart clinic of Odrex". In 2018 in clinic are going to service about 1 thousand patients.

In general the power of the center allows to service about 4.5 thousand patients a year. Increase in number of interventions up to such level is planned by 2023. The first operation will be performed in clinic on April 26.

The device for 4D-ultrasound examination of heart in real time

The cardiological hospital contains 25 beds, and day of a hospital will cost the patient of clinic 5.5 thousand UAH. As the chief physician of "Heart clinic of Odrex" Denis Sebov specified, the amount includes the cost of all analyses, inspections, a power supply and an other expenses. In addition to a hospital, in department of 9 beds of postoperative observation, day of stay in which costs about 7 thousand UAH. Four beds are provided for patients who endured open heart operation. Also there is one aseptic payment for patients with bacterial infections.^[1]

In medical institution — three operating rooms: two X-ray operating rooms and one more for interventions on open heart. In the center the technique of quality check of the performed cardiac operations of aortocoronary shunting is also implemented.

The operating room for interventions on open heart

As noted, in "Heart clinic of Odrex" the cardiopulmonary bypass provided to Medtronic developed by engineers of NASA — the Ukraine's first and seventh in the world is installed. Among other equipment provided in the center — the country's first krioablator providing low-temperature elimination of fibrillation of auricles, the device for performing 4D-ultrasound examination of heart in real time allowing to reduce transient time of the exact diagnosis of the patient and also the flowmetry device revealing passability of the operated vessel during transaction that reduces risk of postoperative complications, the chief physician of clinic Denis Sebov explained. According to him, a part of the equipment undergoes the certification and all other corresponding procedures necessary for its import to Ukraine.

In the territory of medical institution there is also a warehouse of supplies of Medtronic that promotes optimization of medical and diagnostic processes. Besides, as Denis Sebov added, two employees of the producer of the medical equipment will participate in medical processes also for the purpose of their optimization.

Joined the team of doctors of clinic including the cardiologist, the heart surgeon and the intervention cardiologist. According to the chief physician, it allows to approach deliberately the choice of an optimal method of treatment and also, in case of need, to resort to hybrid techniques.

We hope that we will manage to reduce by 15-20% the level of hospital lethality in comparison with average Ukrainian values that, respectively, will reduce cardiovascular diseases mortality in the region. We expect decline in mortality for 10-15% — Sebov noted.

Odrex medical house also created home insurance company and service of emergency medical service which beginning of work is planned for June.

The partnership agreement between Odrex and Medtronic was signed at the end of 2016. Project implementation from the date of agreement signature lasted 1.5 years.^[2]

2016: Supply of equipment for treatment of heart troubles

In December, 2016 Odrex announced purchase of complete solutions of health care of production of Medtronic company. Thanks to this order the Ukrainian clinic had new opportunities in treatment of cardiovascular diseases.

Medtronic will supply the equipment to laboratories of a kateterization and electrophysiology of heart and also the operational hall in the new cardiological center Odrex. Financial terms of the contract are not disclosed.

Within cooperation of the company will provide the latest medical technologies, the equipment and infrastructure, optimize activity of operational departments, will provide preparation and training of local doctors and will supervise daily work of personnel. It will allow to increase the level of providing medical care to patients with diseases of a cardiovascular system, says on the website Odrex.

According to the CEO of Odrex Tigran Arutyunyan, in 2015 more than 404 thousand Ukrainians died of cardiovascular diseases that made  about 68% of the general death rate of adult population in the country.

Access to advanced technologies and the qualified medical care will help to lower this digit considerably. Thanks to our partnership we will be able to create the innovation cardiological center in Ukraine which will allow to improve and save lives of many people — Arutyunyan reported.

The vice president of Medtronic business division "Complete solutions in the field of health care" Frederik Noel says that it is about the first program of the company in Ukraine. Thanks to it modern methods of treatment of cardiovascular diseases will be implemented and also effective and economically reasonable work of clinic for treatment and improvement of quality of life is adjusted, Noel noted.^[3]
