"Bonduelle Kuban" completed the project of SAM audit

On December 20, 2016 the Softline company announced the SAM project for the Russian representative office of "Bonduelle".

Project Tasks

The Russian representative office of "Bonduelle" has geographically distributed infrastructure: the plants in Krasnodar Krai, office in Moscow. All licenses of Microsoft were purchased by each division independently according to the Open License program.

IT department pays close attention to copyright compliance and license requirements of Microsoft corporation. For full-fledged assessment of contracts for software and the choice of more flexible scheme of licensing further, the head of IT department makes the decision to carry out the SAM project together with Softline company.

Project Progress

Experts of Softline carried out the analysis of IT infrastructure in each division of the organization and made the detailed scheme of use of all available categories softwares of Microsoft. Using the Microsoft Assessment and Planning Toolkit (MAP) tool seven servers and 223 workstations of users are inspected.

In addition to basic reconciliation of all software of Microsoft, the project for "Bonduelle Kuban" included an add-on unit according to cyber security. SAM-cpetsialista carried out by Softline the analysis of a server framework and made recommendations about 20 main criteria of protection against cyberthreats.

Project Results

As the further scheme of licensing it is offered to customer to consider Microsoft Products and Services Agreement (MPSA). It termless also provides creation of several accounts for purchases to each geographically distributed division that will simplify acquisition of licenses in the company.

Specialists of Softline suggested to optimize use of the Microsoft SQL Server due to transfer of 1C base on the Microsoft Azure platform. The customer will have at the same time an opportunity more effectively to use this service, without purchasing the additional hardware.

Experts of Softline analyzed license purity of desktop OS, office applications, the server systems. The report provided according to the results of the project will form base for further development of infrastructure, management of IT assets in the Russian divisions of Bonduelle company. The inventory of program assets which is carried out by specialists of Softline allowed to set precisely the volume of the used software, to estimate the current license status and to receive recommendations about optimization of IT infrastructure of our organization. The agreement of MPSA will allow each division of the company to purchase further software solutions, proceeding from an activity profile. At the same time information on all purchases of software in the organization will be available in a personal account of the administrator.
