SAM audit is carried out to Acronis

Softline announced in December, 2016 project completion of SAM Non-Production Environments according to use of software of Microsoft in IT infrastructure of development of the international company Acronis. The created report will allow the customer to manage most effectively development environments and testings and also to perform monitoring of subscriptions to trial versions of software products.

During the project specialists of Softline created the model in which aggregated data by the number of developers, IT specialists, architects, testers, the administrators belonging to software development and having access to non-productive environments were reflected. In the organization experts of Softline developed the inventory program and the questionnaire concerning lifecycle of non-productive environments for carrying out the complex analysis of development tools. As the software for the analysis of IT infrastructure of the customer the solution Microsoft Assessment and Planning (MAP) Toolkit was used. In total over 400 jobs, about 30 test environments and also specialized software Microsoft Visual Studio and services of a subscription of MSDN (trial versions of software products) were checked.

As a result of the carried-out work specialists of Softline prepared reporting materials where complete approach to the strategy of management of development environments is implemented and the recommendations concerning them deployment, administration and also consolidation of server capacities are made. In particular, experts considered optimal transfer of the licenses servicing test environments in a cloud based on Microsoft Azure that will allow to unroll and use in a cloud so many virtual machines how many it is necessary for development and applications testing without acquisition of the local hardware and purchase of software.
