Education

Mikhail Bilenko was born in Saratov. In 1994 he went to the USA where he completed postgraduate studies at the University of Texas at Austin in 2006.

Career

2007-2016: Work in Microsoft

In 2007 Mikhail Bilenko got a job to Microsoft headquarters in Redmond. At first he was a researcher in department of Machine Learning Department in Microsoft Research, being engaged in basic researches in machine learning and their implementation in many products of Microsoft. Afterwards he created the key internal platform of machine learning in Microsoft and directed the Machine Learning Algorithms command in division of Cloud+Enterprise.

2017: Arrival to "Yandex"

On February 7, 2017 it became known of Mikhail Bilenko's transition from Microsoft to "Yandex". In the Russian Internet company he will supervise development of artificial intelligence technologies.

According to the VC.ru edition with reference to "Yandex", Mikhail Bilenko is appointed the chief of the department of machine intelligence and researches. The problem of consolidation and coordination of the specialists of the company who are responsible for development, development and experiments in the field of artificial intelligence, machine learning, neuronets and perspective fundamental technologies will be assigned to it.

In "Yandex" calculate that Bilenko will help using artificial intelligence (including neural networks) with products and services of the company and also will define perspectives of their application.

Besides, Mikhail Bilenko will direct research division of "Yandex" in which the company also invited professor of faculty of computer sciences of Higher School of Economics National Research University Dmitry Vetrov. It in "Yandex" is called "one of the machine learning specialists, most famous in Russia".^[1]
