Synergy-DB

"Synergy-DB" is the protected DBMS based on the solution with the open code PostgreSQL developed by VNIIEF (is a part of Rosatom) and Postgres Professional company. "Synergy-DB" is held for use as the data warehouse at the enterprises imposing increased requirements to reliability and security of information systems. First of all, it is a circuit nuclear and weapon and defense industry complex of the country and also state agencies.

"Synergy-DB" is one of products in the software set which creates VNIIEF to provide an importonezavisimost standard information system of a nuclear weapon complex (TIS NWC) created by the center earlier. In addition to DBMS, is its part operating system "Synergy", a hypervisor for virtualization and a number of other software.

Features of a system

Synergy-DB DBMS provides multi-user access to given with the different level of confidentiality. It is capable to interact from two OS of domestic development - Sinergiya-OS V.1.0 OS and Astra Linux Special Edition OS - for obtaining information on mandatory tags of users by means of providers of security.

Technical features of a system developers call discretionary differentiation of the rights and mandatory access control, identification and authentication, the module of registration of events of security, independent of system recording, cleaning of operational and disk memory after use and other means finished taking into account requirements of data protection from unauthorized access.

Among solution advantages developers call modular structure of providers of security thanks to which perhaps flexible expansion of the list of the supported OS without completion of the source code.

History of creation

2017: Completion of development

In March, 2017 Postgres Professional announced completion of development of "Synergy-DB". Postgres Professional says that, having satisfied all conditions on security, saved completeness of opportunities of PostgreSQL DBMS and provided the high performance of "Synergy-DB".

Further "Synergy-DB" should be certified as an independent product to give the chance of entering into it of completions necessary to the customer and fast certification of changes regardless of suppliers of supported operating systems.

2016: Development agreement DBMS

In November, 2016 VNIIEF according to the results of request for proposals signed the contract with Postgres Professional for development of DBMS in the protected execution based on the open source software. The amount of the agreement was about 26 million rubles.
