The version of software of PADS4 for the Digital Signage systems
On October 5, 2017 the NDS company announced release of the version of software of PADS4 for the Digital Signage systems. New features are added to software and defects of the previous versions are eliminated.
Versions of PADS:
- a possibility of adding of new fonts in PADS4 System Management.
- Data Vaults is the data warehouse. Centralization of the ciphered suppliers of data.
- possibility of performance improvement of video.
- supplier of data of Yammer.
Adding of fonts in PADS4 System Management - function of installation of fonts for Windows and HTML5 Viewers. Fonts become visible as the fonts set by a system in PADS4 Designer.
With the Data Vaults function in PADS4 there was an opportunity to use the protected and ciphered data provider. Using PADS4 System Management, data vault providers can be created and appointed to a certain server. It simplifies centralized operation by data of providers. Users can select data vault providers, but cannot modify them. Besides, data will be available 24/7.
The Viewer Variables function is added
On May 29, 2017 the NDS company announced inclusion in PADS4 of the Viewer Variables function. According to the statement of developers, using this function it will become simpler to create and manage content in the Digital Signage systems
Conditions for Digital Signage network are given:
- several shops work.
- each shop sells certain groups of goods - collections.
- shops open at different times
- in each shop there has to be content.
The user needs to create and plan 50 different presentations in a system. With the Viewer Variables function, displays "know" what data are changed. Everything that once is required – to define Viewer Variables for each player.
In the given example - these shop hours and number of a collection. The client needs to think of the variables based on value of location, the direction, IP address, etc. After these parameters are determined, it is required to create one presentation with centralized operation by given and to plan all Viewers on screens.
By means of the Viewer Variables function users can save time when developing the presentations of PADS4.

For March 15, 2017 PADS4 is the software for Digital Signage networks.
PADS4 Designer represents a development tool and drawing up the presentations using the range of different elements of content.
The PADS Designer application is licensed by the number of the users who are at the same time working with a system. Additional licenses can separately be purchased.
Using the built-in functionality of interaction with external data sources the user can build in the presentation updatable data from Microsoft applications of Excel, Microsoft Exchange, own service CMS or any database. Dynamically configured rules allow to define what content and on what conditions it has to be displayed in the presentation.
Using library of content PADS Content Library all users receive in shared access of the image, video and other information material.
Interactivity of elements allows to create the presentations taking into account the involvement of users. The audience at the same time has an opportunity to interact with presentation elements by means of the user interface implemented in the information booth by means of the touchpad or the keyboard with a mouse. Such format is preferable if the presentation is intended for navigation or advertizing.
Using the TV-card it is possible to include in the presentation a television information material. At the same time the developer is given an opportunity of source selection of a digital TV content, for example FreeView or SKY TV. The packet of PADS4 allows to use IPTV technology for the organization of stream telecasting from the central point using applications of third-party developers, such as Exterity IPTV.
PADS4 allows to use external data sources, including databases, in submission of dynamic tables, schemes and diagrams. Elements can contact own data streams allowing to display visually operational information. Such approach is suitable for demonstration of sales plans, the inventory levels or a status of processing of calls to a support service.
PADS4 Designer supports work with media formats: from static images to animation flash-rollers, video files and information materials in high resolution. Using PADS4 it is possible to place the information materials (images, video, the presentations of PADS, etc.) in the centralized PADS Content Library. The content library is available to use by all subscribers of the PADS system.
PADS Designer allows to use the whole web pages or their fragments in the presentation. For display of web content in corresponding a presentation element, the packet of PADS applies Microsoft Internet Explorer technology. Such approach requires operation of the Microsoft Internet Explorer Internet navigator versions not lower than 9.0, as on the computer with the set PADS Designer packet, and on each PC with the set browser of PADS Viewer.
