Plans for start of production of filters for a hemodialysis in Moscow area

At the end of October, 2017 it became known that the Frerus company — production division of Fresenius Medical Care corporation in Russia — intends to invest means in opening in the Dubna SEZ of the line of release of filters for a hemodialysis. In plans of the investor also — expansion of the enterprise and further optimization of a product for the purpose of achievement of required indicators of biocompatibility.^[1]

Start of the line of release of filters for a hemodialysis is planned for the first quarter 2018. According to preliminary estimates, production volume will be about 5 million filters a year. Products will be delivered in the dialysis centers for all Russia including in medical institutions under the Fresenius brand. Read more here.

Repeated stop of the NPK project

On March 17, 2017 it became known that Fresenius Medical Care will wait a little with start in Moscow region Dubna of scientific-industrial complex for 1.6 billion rubles. It follows from the message published on the website of the government of the region.

It is about the production Gamma body which assumes creation of base on release of the modern innovation equipment for replacement kidney therapy, including the devices "artificial kidney" and dialysis filters.

Specific terms of start are not reported, specify only that it is a little postponed in "communication with the technology moments". Earlier an object was going to start in 2017^[2].

The plan of resuming of construction of a complex for 1.6 billion rubles in Dubna

On January 11, 2017 it became known of plans of Fresenius Medical Care company to return to life the project of creation to Moscow area of large scientific-industrial complex. Its construction was transferred because of economic uncertainty in the country earlier.

According to "The agency of business information" with reference to the ministry of innovations and investments of the Moscow region, Fresenius Medical Care is going to start in 2017 in the economic zone "Dubna" scientific-industrial complex. There the modern innovation equipment for replacement kidney therapy, including the devices "artificial kidney" and dialysis filters will be marketed.

Due to a number of the difficulties caused by an economic crisis and the general instability, project deadlines were modified. However their correction had also other reasons — scales of a constructed facility and the amounts of investments increased — the Deputy Prime Minister of the Moscow region, the minister of investments and innovations of Moscow area Denis Butsayev notes.[3]

According to him, the total area of scientific-industrial complex increased from project 9 up to 14.2 thousand sq.m. The project investment cost also grew and makes 1.6 billion rubles. The design capacity of the enterprise will reach 5 million dialyzers and 1 thousand devices "artificial kidney" a year, Butsayev reported.

According to the management of Fresenius Medical Care,  release of the dialysis equipment — case knowledge-intensive, requiring the developed infrastructure and qualified personnel therefore its localization in the science city situated near Moscow, one of the largest scientific and production centers, is not accidental. Performs construction of the Gamma complex in the territory of the SEZ its resident of Frerus LLC — Fresenius Medical Care subsidiary company. 

2012: Shoygu puts the capsule on construction of NPK "Gamma"

The capsule tab with the message to descendants on construction of this NPK was made in July, 2012 with Sergey Shoygu's participation, then the governor of the Moscow region.

In addition to construction of new scientific-industrial complex initiators of the project planned to implement the program for creation in Russian regions of network of 150 specialized modern hemodialysis centers, 12 of them – in the Moscow region (in 2012-2017).

2010: Creation of JV Frerus

In 2010 Fresenius Medical Care and Trekpor Technology (enters into Konkor group) created JV Frerus which was registered as the resident of the Dubna special economic zone. A main objective of the enterprise is the project startup on construction of GAMMA scientific-industrial complex.

NPK "GAMMA" (before the Trekpor Technology company already implemented in Dubna the project of NPK "ALPHA" on release of plasma filters and devices for a plasma exchange on the basis of track membranes), should produce medical equipment and supplies for holding procedures of replacement kidney therapy (hemodialysis), including capillary dialyzers (dialysis filters) of the last generation and also the devices "artificial kidney".
