DPC of Scientific Research Institute SOKB: SafeDC

In May, 2017 Scientific Research Institute SOKB announced start of own protected DPC under the name SafeDC. He specializes in provision of services of the class SecaaS (Security as a service), constructed based on own solutions of Scientific Research Institute SOKB and on platforms of the partner companies. Focus on services of information security in the company is called the main difference of the DPC from competing.

Among premises of creation of own DPC the CEO of Scientific Research Institute SOKB Igor Kalayda called reorientation of many customers from capital costs of current costs and also import substitution. The last generates new services and gives new opportunities to the Russian developers, he noted.

According to the development director of Scientific Research Institute SOKB Vladimir Bychek, in addition to Scientific Research Institute SOKB the DPC has also other investors. Who they are, in the company preferred not to call, as well as the total amount of investments into the project. Bychek reported only that his company expects to pay back investments into data center within 4-5 years.

At the time of the message about opening, in particular, signatures of documents using mobile devices are available to clients a cloud service of SafePhone on management of corporate mobility based on own solution of Scientific Research Institute SOKB, a cloud service of PayControl based on solutions of SafeTech company for a safe autentitsikation on portals and in systems and also.

Also based on data center of SafeDC the cloud service of Bot-Trek TDS on detection of the target attacks and threats in corporate network organized based on solutions and examination of Group-IB company is provided.

One more cloud service, available from data center of SafeDC, - the telemedicine Medkarta24 platform based on the solution of Technologies of Health company. She turns on the electronic medical record, means for remote monitoring of 24/7 patients and remote diagnostics, personal accounts of the patient, doctor, administrator.

In addition to cybersecurity services, at the time of opening also classical services of DPC - lease of computing powers, optical fibers for creation of secure channels of communication, storage and data backup, collocation and so forth with a special focus on security are provided. In addition to standard service of placement of the equipment Scientific Research Institute SOKB offers clients more protected placement option - "DPC in DPC" when the equipment is located in safe cabinets with independent conditioning systems, fire detection, etc.

Scientific Research Institute SOKB is going to expand a packet of the services provided based on DPC. The development director of Scientific Research Institute SOKB Vladimir Bychek noted that the company intends to turn SafeDC into "pipeline" of services of information security.

For example, in the near future based on DPC of SafeDC the cloud platform of information security of Qualys - to the company with the French roots which headquarters is located in the USA should become available. According to the representative of Qualys, its cloud platform totals more than 300 Russian clients, however they receive services based on foreign data centers. Part of them is interested in receiving the same services based on the Russian data center in this connection Qualys is going to organize it together with Scientific Research Institute SOKB.

Also from data center services based on solutions of some other partners, for example, the companies "Infotecs" should become available and SkyBox.

The company calculates that both the large, and small companies from the different industries will become clients of its services. At the time of opening pilot projects of provision of services to a number of customers whose names in Scientific Research Institute SOKB were preferred not to be read are conducted.

Parameters and "stuffing" of data center

The total area of DPC - 240 sq.m., it contains up to 120 racks with the equipment. The electric power brought to DPC is 1 MW.

The data center is designed taking into account the international standards corresponding to the TIER III level. All systems of data center are dubbed on the leased reserve platform which is also located in Moscow.

The server framework of data center is based on the solutions Lenovo Flex System, and network infrastructure - on the equipment Juniper Networks. Vladimir Bychek noted in a conversation with TAdviser that the company did not consider use of the Russian hardware solutions in the DPC: at the level of data centers to think of it still early, he considers.

The data center is certified on compliance to 1 class and 1 level of security of the information systems processing the state information resources and personal data of citizens. Vladimir Bychek explained TAdviser that such certification was received, first of all, for providing medical cloud services where there are increased requirements to personal information protection of patients.

Who acted as contractors on creation of data center and what technical security systems are implemented in it as they are controlled and controlled, representatives of Scientific Research Institute SOKB could not answer press conferences.

Arrangement and legal position of data center

The DPC is owned by Scientific Research Institute SOKB. It is located in the underground territory of business center in Nauchny Drive in Moscow in which there are offices of the company. The platform with the server hardware is located at the level minus the third floor, engineering infrastructure - based on minus of the fourth, the commercial director of Scientific Research Institute SOKB Olga Dobrovolskaya told TAdviser.

According to her, earlier this space under business center represented one big emptiness to level minus the fifth floor. Floors were under construction specially under data center.
