Traft will train logisticians and loaders using augmented rReality glasses

Customers: Traft

Moscow; Logistics and Distribution

Contractors: HoloGroup
Product: Microsoft Hololens

Project date: 2017/03  - 2017/05

HoloLens technologies create interactive holograms in surrounding space. For them the set of applications as this technology is applied not only to entertainments, but also in the fields of medicine, education, architecture, design and many others is developed. Traft decided to study the chance of the given technology for needs of logistics.

The carrier can become the first company in the Russian market which applied this technology in learning processes of employees. HoloLens, for example, allows to visualize in the 3D format - holograms detailed model of the street, a warehouse, the loading platform, to provide to logisticians and loaders an opportunity to estimate different options of arrangement of goods on shelves, to perform different test tasks in virtual space (to optimize loading of racks, to competently coordinate loading of trucks in peak hours, etc.). Developers and users of the platform can appear in the virtual premises, understand distance between racks, their height, extent of loading to simulate certain scenarios of the behavior as though all this occurred in real life.

That HoloLens is completely self-contained unit for work it does not need the Internet or the computer. It is equipped with the powerful processor and the special graphic module which is responsible for information processing from 18 sensors of the analysis of space of the premises, gestures, sounds, the speech and light. It provides the high accuracy of positioning of virtual objects in space. And using four built-in microphones, the light sensor, the accelerometer, a gyroscope, the magnetometer and several cameras the realness of virtual elements is reached.

A. Muradyan, the chief executive of Traft, noted that he before Traft already considered for himself the possibility of transfer of a part of corporate training programs of logisticians, drivers and loaders to technologies of virtual and augmented reality (AR/VR), based on Tilt Brush technologies from Google. It was planned, in particular, that in a helmet or glasses of virtual reality loaders will be able to study difficult warehouse transactions, for example, to cross docking, i.e. an end-to-end overload of goods from one transport for another, passing a zone of long-term storage. The decision to concentrate on solutions of Hololens as for it all parts are supplied on a turn-key basis while Tilt Brush represents only the controller which the user holds in hand is at the moment made, and immersion in 3D - reality happens to the help of points of HTC company (HTC Vive model).
