Haier to liquidate Candy-branded hardware plant
Haier Group decided to liquidate Kandy S.N.G. due to "low profitability," writes Kommersant in the issue of September 25, 2023. According to the publication, production at the plant in Kirov was suspended, as it "had to work, including for Europe." After the imposition of sanctions and other restrictions, the production of Candy was reduced to 300-400 thousand units (it was planned to produce 1 million per year). During the liquidation of the company, some of the employees will be fired, and some will be transferred to Haier, the newspaper reports.
Suspension of production in Kirov
Foreign manufacturers producing equipment in the Russian Federation had problems by April 2023. The Italian brand Candy, owned by the Chinese Haier, against the background of reduced demand and increased competition from cheaper Chinese and Russian brands, suspended the work of the plant in Kirov.
