The State museum of heroic defense and liberation of Sevastopol digitized negatives of front press photographers

In the spring of 2017 ELAR Corporation implemented the project of digitization of funds and collections in the State museum of heroic defense and liberation of Sevastopol.

According to representatives of the museum, audio cassettes, videotapes, magnet coils and negatives were transferred to a digital format. A project objective – to create insurance electronic fund for its subsequent loading in an automated system of Muzey-Z organization. Besides, the digitized material will be transferred to the federal state information system "State Directory of Museum Fund of the Russian Federation".

"Now data transmission and images of museum objects for inclusion in Goskatalog of Museum fund of the Russian Federation is very relevant task, - the Head of Department on work with the museums ELAR corporation Lyudmila Morozkina says. - According to the federal legislation, by December 31, 2025 the State directory of Museum fund of the Russian Federation should be filled 100% of data".

The state museum of heroic defense and liberation of Sevastopol contains 131,429 units of storage, from them 96,405 objects of fixed assets. The most valuable and unique is the collection of negatives of front press photographers N.A. Asnin, V.V. Mikosha, D.G. Rymarev, K.M. Ryashentsev, E.A. Haldey, B.G. Sheynin and others. A considerable part of this collection is digitized, and digital copies of negatives can be seen both on the website of the museum, and on the website Goskataloga Muzeynogo of fund of the Russian Federation.

"Digitization of negatives on a film and glass is among demanded services of ELAR corporation more than 20 years. We own the wide park of the scanning equipment, staff of qualified specialists and we have rich experience of digitization of big arrays of a film", - Lyudmila Morozkina told. The same concerns also digitization video and audiodocuments: ELAR successfully is engaged in transfer to a digital format of audiovisual documents for creation of insurance funds and funds of use.
