Biography
Born in 1968 in France, educated at the Sorbonne (1991, master's degree in business and international law), later received an additional education (DEA in international law at the Pantheon-Assas University in Paris and DESS in international business law in Nanterre la Défense).
In 1992, he served as an alternate at the French Embassy in Moscow, where he worked in the visa department. Returning to Moscow after receiving additional education, in 1995 he opened in Moscow, together with partners, the law office of Seeberg, Stabreit and Garese, among whose clients were large Russian businessmen. For 2017, the bureau operates under the Garese & Associates brand.
In the interests of customers, he took part in structuring transactions on the privatization of energy companies (VS Energy) in Ukraine in the mid-2000s. He was a member of the board of directors of the CSKA football club.
In 2000, Garez became an arbitrator of the International Commercial Arbitration Court.
In 2005, together with his wife, he opened the Volkonsky cafe-bakery chain, which for 2017 has more than 60 establishments in Russia and Ukraine.
In 2010, he became a member of the Moscow Regional Bar Association, in 2014 - a member of the Paris Bar Association.
Since 2014, he has been actively investing (Kuznya restaurant-club, Kelia business club, yoga club, Cooker's useful cuisine cafe, Splash Project). At the same time, he develops the design expertise of his company, takes an active part in the activities of the international organization Young President Association, which ensures the career growth of young leaders in international business.
Hobbies
Alexander Garez collects works of painting - for example, in his collection more than a thousand works of the Soviet collective "Kukryniksy." He is fond of yoga and equestrian polo, together with his wife brings up six children.
