On July 17, 2017 the company TmaxSoft announced an implementation project relational DBMS Tibero in the company Korea Electric Power Corporation, South Korea.
Project Tasks
The main objective of the project - upgrade of infrastructure and reduction of operating expenses when preserving reliable system operation of data management (MDMS) and optimization of processing of all arriving information in real time.
Project Progress
The data management system operating in KEPCO collects indications from high-voltage and low-voltage objects in 14 different branches and executes analytics. The maximum volume of the processed data ~ 30 Terabyte, and the number of simultaneous users in dive can reach 500 thousand.
The proposed solution TmaxSoft - relational Tibero DBMS, 3 Tibero Active Cluster (TAC) nodes, totally on 114 cores, 2 InfiniLink nodes on 60 cores.
Earlier infrastructure on Oracle DBMS was used: DBMS – 114 cores (3 nodes on 38 cores), ESB – 60 cores (2 nodes on 30).
Project Results
Having completed migration of a direct system from Oracle DBMS on Tibero, the KEPCO company received economy in the total ownership cost (TCO) to 60%.
Costs of KEPCO for the analysis of infrastructure, support of the project and the help at migration - $7.96 million (net of any taxes).
