"Modulbank" started service of creation of payment orders from a photo based on the solution of ABBYY

On August 1, 2017 the ABBYY company announced updating by Modulbank of mobile application and Internet bank. Now clients of bank can create payment orders "in one click": for this purpose it is necessary to photograph or scan the account of any configuration only.

Service is developed jointly by the companies Abbyy and ITFB Group with use Abbyy FineReader Engine.

The project is implemented in a short time — in only 25 days. Abbyy provided a system core, and ITFB Group developed logic of extraction of data. Specialists of ITFB Group set the solution on the equipment of bank and provided necessary mechanisms for integration of service with internal systems and services of remote customer service.

Project Results

Service based on Abbyy FineReader Engine will automatically recognize bank details, the amounts, the VAT from photos and the scanned images of documents. Thus, it is possible to pay any bill for only several seconds.

Before recognition the photo or the scan undergo hands-off processing: the image is cleaned from noise, the projection improves, the image turns on the necessary corner, brightness and contrast increases. It gives the chance to take data even from images with low resolution, and clients can use the files created on the majority of smartphones and scanners. Service provides processing and recognition practically of all known graphic formats, including PDF. After recognition the client needs only to verify data.

Mobile application of Modulbank on platforms iOS Android was also downloaded by more than 38 thousand clients on everything Russia, for the last year their number increased by 240%. Now about a third of our users perform the majority of payment transactions via the smartphone.
