Orange Business Services participates in the draft of anticreeping IoT-solutions for bicycles

The international service provider Orange Business Services and Sherlock, the Italian startup which is in To Turina and specializing in development of anticreeping IoT- solutions for bicycles, signed in September, 2017 the three-year support agreement Orange of business of the company worldwide. Support includes IoT-connection of Sherlock devices and also providing the portal for management of them.
Technology of the device
The anti-thief devices hidden from public eyes released by Sherlock for the markets of Europe and North America will work based on the built-in Orange SIM cards. The solution includes as the anti-thief device hidden in a bicycle wheel and mobile application for work with it. The device consists of three components integrated among themselves: The GPS module for detection of the bicycle, the GPRS module for connection to the Internet and also the module Bluetooth with the low level of energy consumption. The cost of buying solution includes two years' connection to network.
As soon as the device is activated through Bluetooth, its owner will receive in real time notifications on the smartphone when the bicycle moves or if to try to sort it. Also the owner will be able to keep track of location of the bicycle at any time and to provide to competent authorities temporary access to this information using the unique code.
It is impracticable to thief to detect the installed device, at the same time it does not affect appearance of the bicycle in any way. Besides, the device is used as a unique identifier of the bicycle thanks to integration about "bike passport", the special digital document developed in cooperation with city police of Turin, and containing all this, necessary for confirmation of the property rights of the owner to the bicycle.
Scheme of sale and support
Anti-thief devices are on sale directly to consumers who activate them using mobile application. SIM cards from Orange company are built in devices for a production stage and pass test before sending to the buyer. The global support provided by Orange company means that the anti-thief device by default works worldwide, being automatically connected to different networks for suitable connection.
