"MS-Tekhnologii" upgraded DPC of "The Kamensk-Uralsky non-ferrous metals processing works"

The MS-Tekhnologii company announced on September 22, 2017 project completion on upgrade of computing infrastructure of DPC of "The Kamensk-Uralsky non-ferrous metals processing works" (KUZOTsM).

According to the results of the implemented project the plant received the data processing center having big computing powers. The platform differs in the increased energy efficiency, reliability and scalability.

Project Tasks

At the time of upgrade of DPC at the plant there was infrastructure which was in operation rather long time. In this connection the decision on the choice of the solution and the supplier who had to correspond to the set criteria and have necessary competences was made.

Completion of data center was necessary for operation again implemented and development of the existing infrastructure services and information systems, including automation systems of enterprise management (ERP system) Microsoft Dynamics AX and 1C: Enterprise.

Contractor Selection

In June, 2017 "The Kamensk-Uralsky non-ferrous metals processing works" announced competition at the choice of the contractor for carrying out upgrade of computing infrastructure of DPC. According to the protocol of opening of envelopes, four companies were among applicants for signing of the contract, the winner selected MS-Tekhnologii company which offered terms, optimal for the plant, the head of department of an ACS KUZOTSM Nikolay Volchkov told.

Choice of solutions

When choosing the platform IT specialists of the plant were guided by such factors as quality, the price, compatibility and reliability. As a result Dell EMC companies selected modern solutions. On a response of representatives of the plant, they met the requirements formulated on the basis of long-term operating experience of business systems.

Project Progress

Within creation and upgrade of computing resources delivery, configuring and a commissioning servers Dell EMC PowerEdge of R430, disk subsystem of Dell EMC VNXe 3200 and other equipment and the software of Dell EMC company was executed. Besides, means are applied virtualizations and DBMS.

Project Results

The updated data processing center is constructed based on the equipment Dell EMC. Hardware-software providing DPC consists of the systems of virtualization, data storage, a computing subsystem, subsystems of switching of traffic, monitoring and reporting.

Connection of a system, on a response of representatives of KUZOTsM, allowed to increase considerably data processing rate and to accelerate processes of backup of the trading systems.

Upon termination of the MS-Tekhnologii project undertook obligations for warranty and to service maintenance as the equipment installed within the contract, and means of virtualization and DBMS which were available for the customer.

Thanks to the equipment Dell EMC which fully corresponds to business requests the plant had an opportunity of achievement of the purposes. Process of upgrade of IT infrastructure of the plant is well under way, every day business faces new calls which dictates the market, and IT infrastructure should not only respond timely to its requests, but also go for advancing. The project was implemented in the stated terms taking into account all requirements and expectations.
