History

2022: Start of production of combines

In July 2022, it became known about the sale of the Taganrog Automobile Plant to Rostselmash. The latter also concluded an agreement with the government of the Rostov region on the construction of an enterprise for the production of agricultural and communal equipment on the premises of the former automobile plant with an investment of 1.5 billion rubles.

The plant is expected to employ 500 people in its first phase, and 1,500 employees once it reaches full capacity. The company plans to produce agricultural machinery in the amount of 3 billion rubles a year with the prospect of an annual increase in production by 10-15%. In addition to the assembly shop, a foundry and a test site will be created. It is planned to return former employees of the TagAZ enterprise to the plant. In 2025, it is planned to reach a production capacity of 5 thousand units of agricultural machinery.

Bankrupt TagAZ started producing combines

The plans include the production of five types of agricultural machines: tillage, foraging, grain processing, self-propelled and trailed sprayers, as well as adapters for combines.

According to the Rostov edition of Notepad, the first stone at the construction site of the new enterprise was laid back in May 2022. Rostselmash confirms that production will be established on the site of TagAZ workshops, but they only talk about a deep reconstruction of the existing plant, which once already produced combines - even before the purchase by the Doninvest financial and industrial group.
