The Russian Space Systems holding (RKS, is included into Roskosmos State corporation) announced on November 15, 2017 development of the system concept of the structural monitoring of working capacity (SMWC) increasing reliability and security of products of the missile and space equipment, objects of land space infrastructure and also objects transport power and other industries. A system allows to make anticipatory management decisions on the basis of the data on technical condition of crucial structural elements obtained in real time.

Submitted to RKS the concept of security of space objects on the basis of "smart" materials

Concept essence

Offered by specialists of scientific research institute of physical measurements (NIIFI, is included into RKS holding) the concept of SMR is constructed on use of so-called "smart" materials which properties can be changed by controlled methods of external influence. Fiber pyezokompozita and macrofiber aktyuator created on their basis for installation in structural elements of products of the missile and space equipment and objects of land space infrastructure concern them. "Smart" materials combine touch and aktyuatorny functions of monitoring, control and diagnostics of a status of constructions.

According to the CEO of JSC NIIFI Andrey Nikolaev, as of November, 2017 in Russia there are no similar systems.

SMR method

Structural monitoring of working capacity is the innovation quality evaluation method, reliability augmentations and security, forecasting of a residual resource of different objects. Feature of the NIIFI project (in comparison with foreign developments of similar appointment) is use of complex approach during creation of physical and mathematical and topological models, algorithms of development of corrective actions, programs of calculation of localization of macrofiber aktyuator for accomplishment of industry requirements for reliability.

Activity of NIIFI

The scientific research institute of physical measurements is Competence Center of RKS holding on the datchiko-reformative equipment and a pyezotekhnik and actively is engaged in studying of issues of structural monitoring of operability of structural elements of products of the missile and space equipment and also development of active functional piezoelectric components necessary for this purpose.

Specialists of NIIFI carried out a number of research works in this direction, developed a technology line of production of piesoceramic components of different type on the basis of the lead zirconate-titanate (LZT), including film, fiber, composite elements and piezo-microelectromechanical systems (MEMS). The existing scientific and technology backlog and production base of the company allow to develop technologies, to develop production of macrofiber composites and to make aktyuator, sensors, sensor networks and the SMR systems of products and objects of the space-rocket industry on their basis, claim in RKS.
