2019: Pilot lot of the World cards with the Micron chip

On January 9, 2020 Mikron reported that the Post Bank the first in the market emitted a batch of cards of PS "World" with the chip for contactless payment of the Russian production.

The pilot lot for the beginning of January, 2020 already came to points of service of bank in some regions. During 2020 the Post Bank is going to begin mass issue of the World cards with the dual chip of domestic production.

Issue of the first batch of the World cards with the dual chip of Micron became result of the strategic agreement signed in 2017 between Post Bank and NSCP Mir about the payment card issue with the microchip of the Russian production for the purpose of support of domestic microelectronics and import substitution. For Post Bank the Mir payment system is a strategic partner. For January 9, 2020 based on PS "World" in bank about 9 million cards (about 80% of issue of all cards of Post Bank), at the same time more than 40% from them – with the Micron chip are issued.

Based on PS "World" cards to our flagship product – the savings account and also cards Pyaterochka which are very popular with our clients are issued. In 2020, based on testing of pilot lot, we are going to begin mass issue of the World cards with the dual chip of domestic production. On filling and functionality these cards will differ in nothing from cards about the chip modules of foreign production, however use in them domestic developments significantly increases technology safety of their use and it is strategically important for all Russian financial system, noted the board member, the director of products and technologies of Post Bank Grigory Babadzhanyan

The chip of development of NIIME of production of Micron – completely Russian product which supports an opportunity for work of cards via contact and contactless interface. It is certified by the World system for use in national payment cards and conforms to international standards. The chip is developed for contactless payment specially for PS "World" and has own operating system.

2017: Agreement on a batch of the World cards with the Russian microchip

On November 20, 2017 the memorandum of cooperation between Post Bank and the National Payment Card System providing release of the largest batch of the World cards in the market with the Russian microchip of production of Mikron company is signed.

The first batch of the World cards with the Russian microchip of 400 thousand pieces is already sent to regions of presence of bank. The shareholder of Post Bank — Russian Post is engaged in delivery of cards. It is planned that until the end of the first half of the year 2018 bank the World with the Russian chip will issue 2 million cards that will allow it to become the key issuer of such cards in the market. In total in 2018 Post Bank the World is going to issue more than 4 million cards and to increase their issue more than three times in comparison with 2017.
