Content

In August, 2016 specialists of TopLog company implemented the warehouse management system TopLog WMS in the distribution center of SPAR located to Irkutsk.

Automation object

The distribution center of SPAR in Irkutsk of 9 thousand sq.m equipped with the systems of rack and floor storage with temperature conditions from-25 C to +25 C acted as an automation object.

Operating conditions:

  • 30,000 names of the nomenclature;
  • up to 80,000 order lines a day;
  • work on technology of barcoding;
  • 20 shipping documentations (data collection terminals).

The center places about 30 thousand active descriptions of goods. The range is provided by fresh vegetables and fruit, the grocery, frozen and nonfood products, converted products, pastries and self-produced smoked products. Functioning of a 24/7 warehouse is ensured by 37 employees accepting on average a day about 60 entering deliveries and the shipping over 500 orders.

Prerequisites

Before integration of the automation system of the warehouse TopLog WMS work of the Irkutsk division of SPAR company was accompanied by a number of the problems connected with productivity: insufficient speed of acceptance and selection of products, lack of an accurate operations procedure on distribution of goods by cells and racks. Also the management had no opportunity to obtain up-to-date data by quantity and quality of stock balance.

Project Progress

Within cooperation between TopLog and SPAR in a warehouse of the customer the accurate algorithm of distribution of products to storage taking into account required parameters was implemented: weight and dimensional characteristics, expiration dates, temperature conditions, commodity neighbourhood and others.

Project Results

After automation of the distribution center the speed of work of warehouse personnel at stages of acceptance and selection of goods increased, influence of a human factor on warehouse business processes thanks to application in work of the shipping documentation decreased. In the project progress process optimization of accounting of a remaining balance was performed.
