Tornado Modular Systems completed amount of works on creation of the PCS at Mendeleev Geothermal Power Plant

On November 27, 2017 the Tornado Modular Systems company announced end of amount of works on creation of the automated process control system (APCS) at Mendeleev Geothermal Power Plant. Works are carried out within reconstruction of the geothermal power plant included in the program of development of a non-traditional power engineering on the Kuril Islands.

Passed tests of the Tornado-N software and hardware complex. At the first stage under control of an APCS launch of the separating unit of one of four wells, a node of common collectors of the separated water and steam in front of the binary power station (BPS), two air compressors, auxiliary and electrotechnical the equipment of the station was performed.

Specialists of the Novosibirsk company 'Tornado Modular Systems' performed supply of equipment for the self-produced PCS, developed and configured the application software and also carried out commissioning on the PCS under "key", including adjustment of the top and field level.

"The main difficulties are connected with two factors – prolonged terms of construction and bankruptcy of the company - designer and one of the main of the contractor on installation and adjustment of the PCS. Actually we had to undertake all works on the PCS, and to complete for someone always not simply. High degree of seismicity became some surprise for us about which nobody warned that demanded certification of PTK "Tornado" on seismicity to 9 points, besides, in the atmosphere high concentration of sulfur that leads to education on the equipment of sulfuric acid.
