2017: Agreement of Intent to Develop Digital Services in the Region
The Government of the Udmurt Republic and MegaFon signed an agreement of intent in December 2017 to develop digital services in the region. The agreement involves the further expansion of infrastructure and the introduction of innovative projects. The heads of MegaFon and representatives of the executive branch of the region will create a joint working group.
Within the framework of the project, its own solution will be created - the Regional Management Center. It is a single information space of the region, which unites all ministries and departments, information systems of different levels, and also includes electronic document management, a secure conference call, the ability to analyze social networks. The head of the region will be able to track the state of socio-economic and socio-political processes in the subject, manage risks and problems.
"The mainreason for our desire to cooperate with MegaFon is the need to digitalize the republic," said Alexander Brechalov, Head of the Udmurt Republic. - The second reason is very pragmatic. I traveled around all the districts, and the top 5 issues consistently include the topic of mobile quality. On the one hand, the requirements for online work have long been established, ranging from filling out school diaries to the functioning of medical facilities and diagnostics. On the other hand, technical conditions do not allow working in this mode. The demand for communication services in society is very high. And we have a lot of common ground with MegaFon. There is every prospect for increased cooperation. "
MegaFon has already confirmed its interest in social programs to provide digital services to all segments of the population of the republic by implementing the first stage of the project - "Village Council." Over 10,000 residents of Udmurtia living in small villages and villages this year received access to the entire range of digital services of MegaFon. With the support of the Government, in just 150 days, MegaFon deployed digital infrastructure in hard-to-reach and sparsely populated areas of the region, the number of which does not exceed 800 people: Chekan, Andreishur, Old Bygi, Barany, Arkhangelsk, Pazyal, Shadrino, Luke, Zamostny, Old and New Kaksi.
