On December 14, 2017 the HPC Hub company announced a project startup of high-performance computing for participant of the market of alternative power engineering in a segment of creation of industrial drives of the electric power - Energozapas company.
Project Tasks
The project objective Energozapas is development and an output to the world market of the solid-state storage power stations (SSSPS).
TAES developers were faced by a problem of search of optimal geometry of a wind-shelter cover of the station that will help to minimize costs for its construction. In terms of computational modeling this task is formulated as three-dimensional non-stationary calculation of flow of the building with air flow with a variable profile of speed on height. It is solved using a difficult mathematical apparatus (the three-dimensional non-stationary equations of Navier-Stokes) and complemented with specialized model of turbulence.
As the tool the big distributed computing powers (35 million cells) were necessary for TAES developers. The company studied the market in search of the supplier of the solution optimal on costs, quality of service and level of the provided infrastructure. It was required to receive supercomputer infrastructure on which it is possible solving of tasks and the consultant for setup of the corresponding calculating software.
Was the HPC Hub company is selected.
Project Progress
On a cloud platform of supercomputers from HPC Hub the computing project is implemented.
Optimal adjustment of a computing environment of OpenFOAM was performed by HPC Hub company. The solution succeeded to achieve a linear gain of performance of the environment when scaling on bigger quantity of computing cores.
Project Results
According to the results of project implementation Energozapas had an opportunity to conduct difficult calculations and to reduce overheads.
