On December 18, 2017 the Panasonic company announced delivery of PJSC Aeroflot company of the Electronic Flight Bag system (EFB, "an electronic cabin of the pilot").

Project Progress

In 2016 - 2017 Panasonic delivered to airline 170 of protected tablets Toughpad FZ-G1.

System implementation of EFB should lead to replacement of 20-kilogram suitcases with flight documentation (navigation charts, RLE, RPP, MEL, the collection of actions of crew in emergency situations (QRH) and so forth). The protected tablets can provide necessary data in electronic form, increasing efficiency of flight personnel, reducing time for filling of reports, providing a possibility of collecting and reliable storage of analytics. Operational updating of information on the device reduces an error probability at its processing and use in flight. Reduction of number of paper carriers promotes cost reduction on their maintenance.

The main arguments for benefit of Toughpad FZ-G1 became:

  • price relation and functionality,
  • possibility of installation and use of software products of Jeppesen,
  • existence of certificates:
    • on depressurization (10 thousand - 40 thousand feet),
    • on electromagnetic radiation according to requirements of RTCA DO-160G,
    • on the rechargeable battery according to requirements of UL 1604,
    • on vibro-and an udaroustoychivost according to requirements of MIL-810G,
    • on temperature condition according to requirements of MIL-810G.

Project Results

Panasonic Toughpad FZ-G1 is completely protected tablet on OS on Windows 10 PRO with the Intel processor Core i5 6300U 2300 MHz, the internal memory of 128 GB, the TFT IPS screen with a diagonal of 10.1" and with a resolution of 1920x1200 pixels. OS Windows 10 PRO provides integration with IT systems. Brightness control of the screen in the range of 0.5 - 800 of Nit is implemented by hardware keys. There is a smart card reader – supports authorization of pilots at the beginning of work.

The engineering command of Panasonic made changes to system configuration for a logo output Aeroflot when loading BIOS.
