The Luxembourg company Fast Track Diagnostics (FTD) delivers a broad spectrum of diagnostic tests. Unlike standard researches, a system from FTD is capable to carry out at the same time the analysis on slightly viral, bacterial and other infections.
The FTD system represent a set of reagents for the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) in real time which allows to carry out the whole complex of tests at the same time. PTsR is the method used for amplification of nucleinic acids in laboratory samples which allows clinical physicians to diagnose infections on the smallest DNA samples or RNA of the activator.
The complex of tests includes analyses on respiratory infections, a gastroenteritis, meningitis, hepatitis, a human immunodeficiency virus, tropical diseases, diseases, sexually transmitted, and diseases of early age – in general, a system is capable to recognize more than on 140 viruses, bacteria, parasites and mushrooms.
History
2017: Siemens Healthiners buys Fast Track Diagnostics
On December 15, 2017 the German producer of the medical equipment Siemens Healthiners signed the contract on acquisition of Fast Track Diagnostics (FTD) company. The cost of the transaction does not reveal.
Implementing the FTD system in the complex of molecular diagnostics, Siemens Healthineers is going to increase service quality of patients as when using new technology the need for repeated diagnostic testing decreases, time of the analysis is reduced and, as a result, results of treatment improve.
Having integrated a range of analyses on a set of infectious diseases in a single system, Siemens Healthineers was raised by efficiency of workflow of molecular laboratories.
Consolidation of a broad spectrum of analyses of FTD with the diagnostic Siemens Healthiners complex will improve service of our clients worldwide — the CEO of Fast Track Diagnostics Bill Carman says. — Having combined our efforts, we will allow health workers to solve quicker the current problems and, therefore, to help patients more effectively". |
After the transaction with Siemens Healthiners the FTD company will start the new centers Luxembourg, Malta and India. FTD will continue to work under the Fast Track Diagnostics trademark.[1]
