Polymedia expanded possibilities of the updated Geological museum in NITU "MISIS"

On January 30, 2018 opening of the updated Geological museum of V.V. Yershov in NITU "MISIS" took place. The Polymedia company, system integrator and the developer of software and hardware solutions, helped to equip the museum with the interactive equipment and expanded possibilities of visitors in exposure studying.

Thanks to the implementing solutions Polymedia, joint work with the staff of the museum and architects, the hall of the Geological museum turned into an interactive zone with the displays on walls and columns containing information on minerals and fields where they are got.

On one of walls the big LED Polyled screen by size 2.5kh2m, on others – 28 lightboxes is placed with a main entrance. Six of them are intended for zoning of the hall: maps of regions to which the exhibits provided in the next show-windows belong are applied on a surface. The others 22 occupy photos of minerals and objects of the mining industry. On the Polyled screen materials can be displayed both in the automatic mode, and in the presentation mode. Management of light, inclusion and setup of operation modes of a multimedia complex and interactive displays is made remotely from the iPad tablet, by the principle of Smart home.

On each of six interactive displays of Sharp the unique content collected on the subjects "Asian Part of Russia", "Semi-precious Stones and Jewelry Stones", "European Russia and Urals", "Science and Life", "Mining is displayed. Industrial heritage" and "Mining. Cultural heritage". Material is provided by the staff of the museum and transformed to an interactive format by Addreality company. Information on displays corresponds to that zone in which they are located.

"When implementing the project we followed the motto of the "Saving Traditions, We Advance Time" university and aimed to expand as much as possible possibilities of employees and visitors of the museum using modern technologies. In the updated Geological museum of V.V. Yershov combination of AV solutions, excursion maintenance and rich exposure helps not only to tell about minerals and methods of their production, but also draws attention of youth to mining — Knyazeva Maria, the manager of projects of Polymedia for the museums and higher education institutions tells. — The modern museum with the surprising atmosphere in which the collection of extraordinary beautiful minerals gathering decades is successfully complemented with opportunities of the advanced technological solutions became result of work".

Transformations of a museum complex began with exposure where the collections of crystals, minerals, rocks distributed on the main mining regions of Russia and the adjacent countries (Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia) were provided. In September, 2017 the museum was included in the object list of the Olympic Games for school students "the Museums. Parks. Estates" which the fifth year is spent at the initiative of Departments of Education and the culture of Moscow. Participants of the Olympic Games are school students, their parents and teachers will be able not only to look at museum pieces, but also to pass examination in the form of quest.
