The airport of Munich and Lufthansa airline in February, 2018 started testing of the anthropomorphous robot in Terminal 2.
Now the passengers who appeared in Terminal 2 of the Munich airport can ask the questions to the android by the name of Josie Pepper and learn how, for example, to pass to the necessary boarding gate at what restaurant to have a bite or how to find this or that shop. Jozie Pepper, the anthropomorphous robot of 120 cm in height, will quickly answer the asked question, told in Lufthansa.
The robot is created by the French company SoftBank Robotics, and the name "Jozie" was thought up by the staff of the airport of Munich and Lufthansa airline after personal acquaintance to it.
As noted, emergence in a workplace of Jozie Pepper became a milestone event both for the German air harbor, and for airline as before at one airport of Germany androids with artificial intelligence did not participate in service of passengers.
For several weeks Jozie Pepper will meet passengers in a sterile zone of Terminal 2 which is in shared control of the airport of Munich and Lufthansa airline. For a start the English-speaking robot will be located at descent to the train shuttle which transports passengers from the main terminal in the terminal satellite and back. The main objective of this stage of the project — to learn reaction of passengers to emergence at the airport of the employee robot.
"Brain" Jozie represents the high-performance processor with support of technology of wireless connection to the Internet. Thus connection to a cloud service where there is a processing of the received voice intelligence and connection with the database of the airport is implemented.
The main feature of a system is that the robot of this type not just says in advance formulated phrases: it has the trained artificial intelligence and on each question selects the individual answer. Also as the human brain develops, the artificial intelligence of Jozie works better and better each time, correlating relevant information and formulating definite answer on a question, noted in Lufthansa.
The platform of Internet of Things IBM Watson (IoT) based on cloud computing and artificial intelligence technologies is responsible for mental abilities of Jozie Pepper.
