2018: The announcement of the first-ever electroscooter on Android
In February, 2018 the Archos company announced the first-ever electric scooter working on the Android operating system.
On a vehicle wheel under the name Archos Citee Connect some kind of smartphone equipped with the 5-inch touch display, the quad-core processor, 1 Gbyte of operational and 8 Gbytes of a fixed memory and also wireless communications 3G, Wi-Fi and GPS is located.
This device such data as the passable distance and level of battery power are displayed. Thanks to Internet access it is possible to start different applications and services, including navigation. A program basis is the Android operating system 8.0 Oreo.
The scooter is equipped with 8.5-inch wheels, the electric motor, steady against punctures, on 350 W, the lithium accumulator with a capacity of 6000 mAh and two speeds. The vehicle is capable to pass to 22 km without recharge and to gather speed to 25 km/h.
The producer claims that the scooter can recuperate a small amount of energy at each braking, increasing thereby accumulator unloading time for 15%.
The mass of a product is 13 kg. At the same time it is expected people weight not exceeding 100 kg.
The beginning of sales of Archos Citee Connect is planned for summer of 2018. The cost of a product will be 500 euros. Slightly earlier — in April — the Archos Citee and Archos Citee Power models for 400 euros which will differ in technical characteristics will be produced.
So, Archos Citee weighing 11.5 kg will receive the motor on 250 W, will support three speeds and driving at a speed of 22-25 km/h. The accumulator on 5000 mAh will provide a course stock in 10-12 km.
The Archos Citee Power model is in many respects similar to Archos Citee Connect, but is deprived of the built-in Android smartphone. Will tell about these Archos scooters in more detail at the MWC 2018 exhibition which will take place in Barcelona from February 26 to March 1.[1]
