The digitized funds contain affairs of office the MFA of Russia for 1917, affairs of embassies in London, Paris and Rome, materials of the Hague conference of 1922, the Peace conference in Brest-Litovsk 1917-1918, People's Commissariat for Foreign Affairs of RSFSR, G.V. It has powerful value at transfer to an electronic form of rare pre-revolutionary documents.
Representatives of the MFA note: "The main objective of the project – to show dedication and high professionalism of diplomatic service of our state at a critical stage of its development. Documents show clearly that, despite political and ideological changes, domestic diplomacy saved the succession and put the priority protection of national interests. |
Thanks to the created information resource, each employee has a MFA of Russia, physical persons and legal entities, public associations, state bodies and local government authorities there will be continuous access to rare, important documents that will allow to counteract attempts of falsification of history, to create an objective picture of historical events in public consciousness. Considering interest in Russia among foreign historians and journalists – access to these documents is extremely important in order to avoid incorrect interpretation of history of Russia.
This resource gives a unique opportunity to millions of people to satisfy the curiosity in the field of history. Certainly, the resource is created rather for professional historians, than than just for the fond people, it represents not traditional "exhibition" of the documents devoted to one subject, and the big digitized array. In this sense it is very similar to historical archive in his usual understanding.
