VTB On April 16, 2018 announced work on the platform which will allow bank to solve difficult analytical tasks and to accumulate all retail data in uniform hybrid storage. As a basis of hybrid analytical storage platforms were selected Teradata and Hadoop. By estimates of VTB, investments into development of a single platform will exceed 1 billion rubles.
As envisioned by bank, the platform will provide a fast and simple information access that, in turn, will allow to carry out the detailed analysis of borrowers. Based on information obtained thus VTB will be able to create address offers for clients taking into account individual requirements.
In general, according to VTB, the solution represents two productive circuits which are geographically distributed and at the same time completely duplicate each other for the purpose of ensuring disaster tolerance. At the same time, they are completely synchronized and are at the same time used for different classes of tasks. In one circuit problems of data processing from systems sources, supports of online services of bank and preparation of the reporting are solved. In turn, the second circuit is used for work of business users as directly, and through business applications and tools Business Intelligence (BI), told in bank. The scalability of each component provides direct access to data of external systems to adapt to constantly changing requirements of business.
We expand a productive system with two active computing Teradata nodes with restriction of licensing of computing power. A system will be duplicated for storage of "cold data" on the Hadoop Cloudera platform based on Teradata Hadoop Appliance with a possibility of seamless access using QueryGrid technologies 2.0/Presto. Expansion of a production system by two active computing nodes on the IFX 1.1 platform up to 10 active computing nodes with restriction of licensing of computing power is planned — TAdviser representatives of VTB reported. |
Within digital transformation of bank it is important to us to apply modern solutions to processing of Big Data. The next stage of development of the analytical platform will allow to create the whole ecosystem of Big Data, work with which considerably will improve service quality of our clients — Sergey Baranov, the Head of the Moscow Department of Information Technology — the senior vice president of VTB is convinced. |
