Positive Technologies selected a cloud Croc for testing of new products

The Positive Technologies company, the international company specializing in solutions on information security used capacities of a cloud platform Croc for development and testing of the new products. Also Positive Technologies provides in a cloud training in work with the products for personnel of 60 partner companies. Use of cloud resources allows Positive Technologies to save up to 40% of the budget for the IT equipment and to accelerate an output of new products to the market, reported in Croc company on April 20, 2018.

Using a cloud Croc the customer created a unified environment of development which optimized joint work of the specialists. The project also allowed to reduce costs for IT and to simplify administration of IT infrastructure.

Besides, using a cloud of Positive Technologies provides test access to products to the clients, partners and distributors worldwide and also provides training. On a withdrawal of the company, it gave the chance to increase efficiency of use of software solutions by end users.

Testing of new versions of products — the major development stage to which we pay special attention. The quality and time of its implementation directly depend on performance of the infrastructure used by us — Maxim Filippov, the director of business development of Positive Technologies in Russia explained. — Carrying out different types of the automated testing of new versions on average takes several days and requires use about 100 virtual servers. The product line of Positive Technologies contains 10 commercial products, each of which is updated according to the development plan (road-map) — several major releases in a year. Thus, use of cloud services — almost unique option of creation of infrastructure for the automated testing.

When choosing a cloud platform the customer was guided by its such characteristics as high performance, a data protection guarantee from loss, a possibility of accurate cost control, convenient resource management. The additional convenience of work with a cloud is provided by the Terraform utility, it completely automates processes of deployment of infrastructures in a cloud at the expense of the preconfigured templates. It accelerates work of administrators several times and reduces the number of routine actions.
