2018: Announcement of Lightvision

On April 24, 2018 the Shimadzu company released the new infrared fluorescent system of visualization which received the name Lightvision.

A system is intended for inspection and the choice of tactics of treatment at a breast cancer – it allows to visualize lymphatic and blood vessels using light of the near infrared emitted by fluorescent medicine (Indo-cyanine green).

The infrared fluorescent system of visualization Lightvision from Shimadzu

Lightvision creates contrast images of lymphatic vessels in real time. Using the Indo-cyanine entered into vessels green fluorescent assessment of perfusion in near infrared is possible, at the same time photodynamic diagnostics allows to estimate measurements of intensity of accumulation of medicine in different fabrics and already at an early stage to distinguish places of pathological changes from healthy fabric.

For example, visualizing vessels during transaction, the surgeon can control provision of significant lymphatic vessels and also "patrol" lymph nodes – places of metastatic defeat at a breast cancer.

Lightvision is equipped with the built-in sensors of high definition and supports svetlopolny shooting of images, without need to turn off lighting in the operating room. It also provides simultaneous display of three images: the image in a visible light, the image with the infrared range and the combined image in a visible light and the imposed fluorescent image with the infrared range.

Thanks to the mobile fixer the specialist can easily pick up height, necessary for a specific research, and the angle of shooting; the working distance makes about 50-70 cm and allows to carry out shooting directly during transaction, without interfering with work of the surgeon. The mobility of the platform allows to change easily operating rooms as required.[1]
