2018: In the Buddhist temple buried 114 robots dogs

At the end of April, 2018 in the Buddhist temple Kofuku-dzi (in the Japanese prefecture of Tiba) priests held a burial service of 114 dogs robots of Sony Aibo which became useless. The owners of robotop owls who were present at a ceremony prayed for their souls and thanked for joy which was given many years by little clever robots.

All these Aibo robots were released by Sony company at different times, since first generation of production of 1999 to the last - 2006. In general more than 150,000 dogs of different versions were sold. These little robots were the first samples intended for entertainment and differed in adaptive opportunities of training thanks to what everyone robotopes had the unique character. However in 2014 the company refused to owners technical support of robots, and clever artificial pets began to break gradually.

Robotopsa, become useless, go to repair company A-Fun which either repairs them, or dismantles and uses parts for production of range finders and touch sensors. However before it the company urges owners to hold robotop itself farewell service in the temple. Priests carry out this ceremony in the temple Kofuku-dzi not for the first time. Many owners of robotop owls are sure that those have soul and own character therefore they should be followed to the grave.

Meanwhile in March, 2018 owners of old Aibo robots robots asked Sony to review policy of repair of products according to which robots after preservation are not stored seven years any more as earlier. And nevertheless still old robotop itself only the burial service is available. Though Sony surprised all in 2017, having announced return of Aibo and having provided trial version on the basis of artificial intelligence in January of the 2018th (the cost of $2000), owners did not manage to revive favourite pets – parts of new machines were not suitable for old.[1]
