Growth of number of participants of the peer-to-peer platform twice – with 48 to 93

On October 22, 2019 IXcellerate reported that in one year it doubled the number of participants of the peer-to-peer platform – from 48 to 93. For October, 2019 the community Eurasia Peering IX makes about 40% of quantity of feasts of MSK-IX – the large platform for peer-to-peer interaction of networks and optimization of routes of traffic under the IP protocol. Eurasia Peering IX officially overtook the Finnish and Romanian points of exchange of traffic [1] on the volume of the transmitted data, at the moments of peak load it reaches 125 gigabits/sec.

The Eurasia Peering platform offers individual terms of connections for any participants of peering – from representatives of mass market to top content generators. Among her clients – as the Russian companies interested in increase in efficiency and an exchange rate traffic with foreign partners and the international corporations which come to the Russian Internet space.

In plans of IXcellerate – further expansion of the platform. In particular, until the end of fall of 2019 the company will start the third point of presence of Eurasia Peering IX in Frankfurt (the first two are located in data center of IXcellerate Moscow One and on a telecom hub of MMTC9 – a point of interoperator exchange of Internet traffic in the former Soviet Union). The exit to this platform will open to the platform access to bigger quantity of the international feasts, including, to large cloud providers, and participants of Eurasia Peering IX will be able to configure quickly and conveniently connections and to exchange traffic within current contracts.

Eurasia Peering IX promptly develops thanks to set of factors. The Eurasia Peering platform is included in the public register of a communications infrastructure and TV and radio broadcasting of the Russian Federation available on the website of Roskomnadzor and also accredited in global Internet registrar RIPE and the international base PeeringDB.

Accession of InData service

In September, 2019 the Russian non-profit service InData which is engaged in collecting and data analysis about work of the Russian segment of the Internet joined the platform. Cooperation of Eurasia Peering IX and InData has non-commercial character, its purpose – a research of Runet. Presence of InData at a peer-to-peer ecosystem of IXcellerate gives the chance to other participants of the platform through the IP addresses to trace and eliminate faults in routing and also to collect the additional information about traffic.

2018: Completion of upgrade of the peer-to-peer Eurasia Peering platform

Xcellerate, the operator of commercial data center in Russia, completed in the spring of 2018 upgrade of the peer-to-peer Eurasia Peering platform. The platform is located based on data center of IXcellerate Moscow One and represents the public platform for exchange of traffic in Russia.

For quality improvement of service and increase in the international status of the platform specialists of IXcellerate significantly upgraded its infrastructure and expanded opportunities for connection to communication services: now ports with a speed of interfaces of 1, 10, 25, 40 and 100Gb are available to all participants of the platform.

The platform provides access to 18 operators of telecommunication networks among whom there is Cloudflare, Mastertel, the Telecom exchange, Netrack, Filanco, Avelacom and others. The arrangement in data center with the high level of reservation at distance in one cross-connection from other clients and zones of DPC and also existence of not blocked hardware architecture, allows to implement technical tasks with the increased efficiency and also to maintain availability of services at the level of 99.999%. The average term of project implementation on connection to the platform takes 3 days.

The platform conforms to all requirements of the legislation of the Russian Federation and is completely legalized in Russia. It is registered as the Russian legal person (Eurasia Piring LLC) and has all necessary licenses for communication services provision on data transmissions and telematic communication services. The Eurasia Peering platform is included in the public register of a communications infrastructure and TV and radio broadcasting of the Russian Federation available on the website of Roskomnadzor and also accredited in global Internet registrar RIPE and the international base PeeringDB.

The external companies can use services of the platform as all acting clients and partners of DPC of IXcellerate, and. It can be as the Russian firms interested in increase in efficiency and an exchange rate traffic with foreign partners and the international corporations which want to come to the Russian Internet space and look for neutral service provider for exchange of traffic in this region. Clients of data center will be able to be connected to services of peering in cross-connection cost.

2015: Eurasia Peering commissioning

The peer-to-peer Eurasia Peering platform was put into operation in May, 2015.
