The autonomous neutral (independent) data center of IXcellerate Moscow One opened in Moscow in 2012. Its area is 15 thousand m ². It is possible to increase space for placement of servers more than up to 5 thousand m ², and power supply power – up to 13.7 MV · A. Data-center is located within MKAD and offers placement of servers both in separate racks, and in specially selected zones. The main direction it activity – provision of services on placement of servers (colocation) conforming to requirements of international financial institutions, companies, telecom operators and content providers.

2020: Increase in power capacity of a campus of DPC in Moscow up to 26 MW

On June 16, 2020 the IXcellerate company, the operator of network of commercial centers of data processing in Russia, announced that she put the power center into operation and increased the connected power power of the campus of DPC in Moscow up to 26 MW.

Construction of the power center is a part of the strategic plan of development of infrastructure of DPC of IXcellerate company in Russia. Commissioning of new capacities is dictated by rapid growth of the company and intended to provide both current, and future customer needs of both data centers of IXcellerate – Moscow One and Moscow Two which general capacity is 3315 with firmness - places. IXcellerate guarantees to all the clients power-reservation at the level of 2N in full accordance with Tier III requirements of Uptime Institute. All infrastructure of the power center is connected to federal networks of power supply with high extent of reservation and reliability.

This year our clients put a large number of new servers and network equipment into operation, and demand for services of our data centers continues to grow constantly. We prepare for further expansion of our campus in the north of Moscow and we plan connection of additional 20 MW next year, – Konstantin Borman, the managing director of IXcellerate.

2018

Installation more than 600 racks with Tencent equipment

In 2018 IXcellerate signed the strategic partnership agreement and the service contract with the Chinese service provider — Tencent Cloud company. For last 12 months in DPC of IXcellerate Moscow One more than 600 racks with the equipment of Tencent company which installation became the largest project of data center from the moment of its opening were set, reported in IXcellerate on February 6, 2019. The created infrastructure will provide development of cloud and game services in Russia.

According to representatives of IXcellerate, the implemented project will allow the company to strengthen the positions in the region with the most large number of Internet users in Europe and the level of penetration of 75%, having made its travel on a digital "silk way" more comfortable and in full accordance with the local legislation, including fulfillment of requirements on localization of personal data.

The third queue of the Moscow DPC for 1100 with firmness - places

On May 29, 2018 IXcellerate announced opening of the third queue of the Moscow DPC and commissioning of the biggest machine hall in Russia.

The module is designed for 1100 with firmness - places with uniform indivisible space of 2500 square meter. The total amount of investments in the module – over $20 million. Building of the third queue of data center of IXcellerate Moscow One began in the fourth quarter 2017 soon after receiving investments from the new institutional investor – the international corporation Goldman Sachs which provided the companies of $15 million in the form of a convertible loan.

The principle of monodimensions underlain at design allowed to increase the useful area of the machine hall and to reduce capital costs of its construction and equipping. Thus, clients of data center had an opportunity:

• flexible placement and scalability of the capacities;
• long-term planning within one platform;
• the increased reservation on cooling;
• and also notable saving of time and costs for installation.

The machine hall is completely ready to work and conforms to all necessary international standards and world-class project scales. Obtaining the certificate of Uptime Institute on compliance of the module of DPC to level of reliability Tier III on category "design" comes to the end and is planned for June, 2018. Project works are performed by Arup company which is a general designer and the partner of IXcellerate from the moment of the basis and start of DPC of Moscow One in 2013. The Vertiv company which could propose modern and reliable engineering solutions and also the most optimal conditions in terms of TCO acted as the technology partner of the project.

Among the advanced innovative technologies implemented when building the third queue it is possible to note:

• The combined cooling system with liquid coolant and freon based on chillers and precision conditioners with frikuligy (free cooling). On the eve of opening of IXcellerate it was awarded awards for "The best solution in the field of cooling and ventilation" according to the results of the annual British award BUILD Awards in category Sustainable Building.
• The eco-friendly cooling system based on chillers using adiabatic precooling and a possibility of use of condensate and storm waters. As the freon solution – the cooling system with the pump of circulation of coolant (Vertiv Liebert EconoPhase™) for obtaining effect of freecooling is installed. The technology applied in these systems allows to reduce energy consumption to 50% in comparison with the traditional systems with air cooling.
• Uninterruptible power supply units with modern Li-ion batteries which differ in the considerable in the smaller weight and twice big service life. Principal components of the UPS have modular construction that allows to facilitate replacement and repair of internal elements. This UPS provides the best value with an efficiency of double conversion of up to 97% in the market and to 99% in the ECO mode.
• The unique HI-FOG automatic fire extinguishing system with a possibility of point fire extinguishing (localization level 4х4 meters). In a system the principle of suppression is used by the sprayed distilled water pumped on a sukhotrubny system in which, in addition to sprinklers under a ceiling and a raised floor, fire hoses up to 60 meters long are in addition provided. A system provides an opportunity to place infrastructure of clients and partners without creation of pressurized zones, as in case of gas fire extinguishing.

Business indicators and perspectives At the moment, the commercial department of IXcellerate signs three contracts under which prepare for installation of 10% of the general capacity of the machine hall. Another 20% are issued in a reserve for expansion of the current clients and projects of new customers. In total clients of DPC of IXcellerate are more than 70 international and Russian companies, including OBS, Softline, Nestlé, Thomson Reuters, Orange Business Services, Chaynaselskhozbank and others.

In strategic plans of IXcellerate – further expansion of business in Russia, including, start of new platforms. In 2017 the company got permission to expansion of land use on the current object of Moscow One that will allow it to master in addition up to 16 thousand square meters of the area with a possibility of placement of 5,000 more client racks. One more possible scenario of growth is purchase of capacities of competitors.

Investments of Goldman Sachs

On September 12, 2017 the IXcellerate company signed the agreement on a convertible loan of 15 million dollars USA with the international corporation Goldman Sachs. Investments are going to be made in expansion of the operating data processing center of IXcellerate Moscow One in the north Moscow. The transaction is structured in the headquarters of IXcellerate of century Great Britain.

The main investment volume will be directed to growth of IXcellerate and expansion of the current platform IXcellerate Moscow One. Within the coming months new machine halls on 1100 and 350 with firmness - places which capacities already for 20% are reserved by the existing and new clients will be built. Distinctive feature of a business model of IXcellerate is modular commissioning. Possibilities of the platform still allow to implement the DPC in DPC project. Introduction of new halls will allow IXcellerate to enter in TOP-3 the operating commercial data centers of Russia by quantity with firmness - places. Taking into account the planned construction the general capacity of DPC of IXcellerate Moscow One will be 2185 with firmness - places.

Development of the development strategy

In September, 2017 Xcellerate reported that the company management held negotiations and the plan of the consulting project together with experts of Uptime Institute is approved. In an analysis result of technical documentation recommendations about design of further modules of DPC with the purpose to receive higher performance and to optimize utilization properties will be developed.

According to the development strategy in Russia IXcellerate plans further expansion of an object and increase in capacities of DPC of Moscow One on more, than 1000 racks. Within cooperation with Uptime Institute the company intends to book audit and to receive the certificate of conformity of the design project and construction to the level of reliability Tier III.

2016: Global Connectivity

On December 7, 2016 the IXcellerate company announced the Global Connectivity program for the clients.

Main objective of the program – to provide to clients of the company an opportunity quickly and to easily integrate the IT resources into global clouds. Plan, build and develop heterogeneous networks, as in Russia, and abroad, within the uniform contract with IXcellerate.

By means of the program all Russian clients of IXcellerate placing the infrastructure capacities in data center of Moscow One can in addition to the current agreement with IXcellerate organize allocated channel, be connected to global cloud operators and implement projects and calculations using global cloud resources, such as Microsoft Azure, Oracle, IBM Softlayer, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and others. Connection is executed by means of the single interface without the need for agreement signature with the foreign operator.

All services are provided through a cloud platform of Equinix Cloud Exchange within the partnership agreement of IXcellerate with corporation Equinix, Inc. According to terms of the contract, IXcellerate acts as official reseller Equinix and can offer customers any services on the platform of a global ecosystem of the partner.

For December, 2016 the company announced participation in it more than 140 data centers in 40 markets on five continents, more than 1 thousand networks and 1.1 thousand cloud providers and IT services.

Possibilities of Global Connectivity can be relevant for the Russian companies planning the international expansion – opening of offices, production centers and/or acquisition of businesses abroad.

All requirements to a personal data storage in the territory of the Russian Federation are observed. Renting racks in data center of IXcellerate Moscow One, the Russian companies working with personal data will still be able to use the standard corporate services of DPC corresponding to the local legislation.

In January, 2016 Verizon issued the certificate of PCI DSS 3.1 to data center of IXcellerate Moscow One.

2014: IBM Resilience Level 3

On April 14, 2014 the IXcellerate company announced obtaining the prestigious certificate of IBM Resilience Level 3. This certificate confirms that the neutral data center of IXcellerate Moscow One is designed, constructed and is operated according to TIA-942 Tier 3 standards.

The scale of level of reliability of IBM allows to estimate objectively functionality and infrastructure of different data centers, testing their capability to carry out maintenance trouble-free in provision of services.

Requirements to data center at certification of IBM Resilience Level 3 correspond, and by a number of criteria even exceed classification of TIA-942 Tier 3. One and all functionality of data center, including fault tolerance of a power complex, compliance to standards of the klimatiki, an object location, the security level, fire-prevention infrastructure and other characteristics is estimated.

On the level of fault tolerance of data center certification of IBM Resilience Level 3 does not differ from certification of TIA-942 Tier 3 and guarantees to clients 99.982% of reliability. IXcellerate is not limited to observance of this requirement and guarantees work of data center for 99.999%. According to the agreement on the service level (SLA), clients receive financial compensation if a downtime exceeds 5 minutes and 16 seconds a year.

Placement of the equipment in DPC of service provider and use of virtual computing powers allows the organizations to avoid the independent solution of such tasks as uninterrupted power supply, conditioning, fault tolerance of the engineering systems, maintenance and also management of the basic server software and questions of support. Thus, business receives modern IT infrastructure without investments into the equipment, without creation of own virtualization platform and hiring of IT specialists.
