The Pentagon selected $0.5 billion for installation of the products McAfee worldwide

In May, 2018 it became known of an auction on global implementation of the products McAfee by request of the American Ministry of Defence. Order cost exceeds half a billion dollars.

The equipment, the software and services under the name of McAfee will be installed in computer systems of the Pentagon, intelligence agencies of the USA and sea boundary protection worldwide.

Three American consulting companies will execute the project: International Systems Marketing, DLT Solutions and EC America ("subsidiary" of Arrow Electronics). Will pay them in total $550 million, however distribution of payments is not specified. Also products and services of McAfee which security officers will use are not called.

Deliverable products will meet the functional requirements and opportunities in a case with: protection of clients, data and servers, data loss prevention, management of vulnerabilities, security of e-mail and protection against penetration into network, said in the statement of the Ministry of Defence of the USA.

The American authorities install the products McAfee is mutual solutions of Kaspersky Lab. In September, 2017 the ministry of national security prohibited all departments and departments to use the software of the Russian anti-virus company in connection with potential threat to national security. Kaspersky Lab repeatedly disproved charges of cyber espionage of which suspect the company, and tried to fight against prohibition in the American courts. By May, 2018 attempts of vendor to return to the American public sector remain ineffectual.

In October, 2017 McAfee stated that the company stopped providing to the foreign governments access to source codes of the software for the purpose of search of vulnerabilities. Also some other American IT companies arrived.[1]
